Cross-play has been one of the most asked about features that Respawn has been seeing from the community when it comes to the free-to-play smash-hit Apex Legends. The good news? It's coming later in the year. The better news? It's arriving alongside the game making its way to the Nintendo Switch and Steam.

One of the big take-aways from this morning's EA Play presentation was the company's newfound and very open approach to platform support. When it comes to the Switch, EA has seven games it plans to release over the next year (the two announced so far are Apex Legends and Burnout Paradise Remastered). Plus there's cross-play support for, well, just about everything. From Star Wars: Squadrons to Rocket Arena to Apex Legends.

Cross-play support doesn't have an exact release date but it's expected some time in the second half of the year. In other Apex news Respawn unveiled its big plans for Season 5, which will include the Lost Treasures Collection Event detailed in the following trailer.
