Good thing the DLC is called Sunken Treasures then. With Ubisoft's Anno 1800 releasing in April of this year on PC, in many ways it took the series back to its historical roots - with an excellent nautical theme. And wonderful visuals too.
The city builder feels unlike anything else in the genre, and this first bit of DLC not only adds new stuff to do - living deep sea diving for treasure but it also adds a new island map that is three times the size of anything found in the base game. Paving the way for a lot more real estate to build a massive city.
And deal with the seemingly endless number of production chains. As per our review of the base game, "The new trade system that blends seamlessly with the light real-time combat feels effortless once understood. All of this comes together best in the non-story sandbox mode where player creativity can shine, and planning will no doubt lead to some truly wondrous island locales. From the animation to the visual effects, this is the best-looking Anno game to date."
Anno 1800: Sunken Treasures is available now for $17.95 or as part of the Season Pass.
