Reviews have been out for a while, but we didn't get our review copy until after release, unfortunately, hence the belated posting here, but for anyone waiting for the AusGamers spin on Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines, here its is.

Andy "Butters" Bulmer, a self-confessed sci-fi nerd and huge Aliens fan took on review duties for us, and we apologise to him and his family for what he had to deal with. There's a game in here somewhere, but an Aliens tale proper, Colonial Marines certainly is not.

I'd like to know what game those 3 screenshots came from, lol....they certainly weren't in the Aliens Colonial Marines I played.

agree with the review. certainly not the game everyone else is giving 1/10 for.

but at the same time a little disappointing compared to the "game play demo's" that were released earlier on in production.
hopefully with a bit of patching it can get there.

still with mates the game does become a bit more fun. quite a few hours on the first weekend after release were spent lanning at mates on this game!

Jesus sLaps, that video explains a lot. I kept wondering where I'd gotten my high expectations for atmosphere and visuals from, now I know.

Really glad I didn't pre-order/buy it at all!

And I hear that this game somehow topped the charts in the UK/EU, ahead of Dead Space 3 and others. It's a sad day for humanity.

From posts I read that are apparently from Gearbox employees (think it was on Reddit, so probably worth taking with a grain of salt, but it sounded pretty legit), that original demo was one Gearbox did, then when they handed the game off to Timegate for completion, most of what was already done was thrown out and not used.

Wow that's just a damn shame, atmosphere is everything in aliens, why on earth would they think it's a good idea to scrap it all. What i find amazing is it's a normal thing now to get peoples expectations up then deliver them a slap in the face.
