Finding out that a game or project exists via a retail listing or some sort of retail back-end code or what not is becoming more and more common of late. Case in point, as per the headline it looks like both
Alan Wake Remastered and Final Fantasy VII Remake are PC bound -- specifically, via the Epic Games Store. Both listings come via internet retail master
Wario64.
With Alan Wake Remastered
also spotted on a Taiwan retail site with a release date of October 5 -- with confirmation that it's also coming to PlayStation 5 and presumably Xbox Series X|S. With that in mind, and the date right around the corner, a formal announcement is expected this week.
Alan Wake getting the remaster treatment is no doubt good news, as the game goes back to the Xbox 360 era and the days of early HD 720p gaming -- so it'll be interesting to see what technical updates it's getting. Plus, with Remedy's Control set in the same shared universe and the developer working on new stuff set in said shared universe, not to mention a new large-scale game for Epic -- a remaster makes sense.
On the Final Fantasy front FFVII Remake was always a timed exclusive for PlayStation, and with that expired it'd be great to see it make it's way to a wider audience.
