With the release of one of the more anticipated new IPs this year, Watch Dogs developer Ubisoft has today revealed that their open-world hacking title will not have access to any flying aircraft for hijacking purposes, instead relying on the usual assortment of ground vehicles.

The sad news was revealed in a recent interview with Examiner, where senior producer Dominic Guay stated that "players will not fly aircrafts in Watch Dogs." According to Guay, the team felt that hijacking aircraft did "not feel it was core to the experience we wanted to create."

Though this means that players won't be able to gain access to air space, Guay did reveal that you'll still have the ability to drive around town in a number of wheeled vehicles, including the chance to visit outside of the main Chicago area where the game is set.

"Players will be able to drive any wheeled vehicles, from trucks to motorcycles, or boats. This will allow them to explore the city proper, the rivers, the lake and even beyond the limits of Chicago," Guay said.

Currently it isn't known exactly what you will see outside of Chicago, but we'll most likely hear more about that as we get closer to release.

Watch Dogs will be available November 21 on PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is expected to be available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One around the time of their console launch.
