In our interview with the head of the ID@Xbox program, Chris Charla, we discussed the many platforms available to indie developers. From Xbox to PC to Game Pass and even Cloud Gaming. And it's the later the team has made great strides in recent years to make the whole process of making a game 'cloud ready' straightforward.

"The developer experience is something people at Microsoft are really passionate about," Chris Charla says. "There's so much we can do and there's always so much more we can do to make things more straightforward for developers. I won’t say easy because nothing’s easy when it comes to game development. With the cloud specifically one of the great things about cloud gaming on Xbox is that it's really straightforward for a developer to have their game playable in the cloud. There's extra work they can do to make it mobile friendly with touch overlays and that sort of thing, but it’s shocking how straightforward that is."

As we've seen with Xbox Game Pass additions over the past year, and with Xbox Cloud Gaming available in Australia, a large portion of titles are available to play across Console, PC, and the Cloud. So it's great to hear that getting a game playable in the cloud is straightforward for indie studios.
