As per a new Activision Blizzard
earnings call the publisher notes that for the PC version of Call of Duty Black Ops 4 it has "invested significant dedicated resources and design time". Which at the very least means dedicated server support day one, and quite possibly Battle.net integration along the lines of Destiny 2.
Which has been a success on PC, thanks in part to being able to not only push a higher frame-rate and higher visual detail than the console version but also excellent network integration thanks to Battle.net. Now, this is not to say that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will end up on the traditionally Blizzard-only service, but all signs are pointing to that eventuality.
The full quote from Activision Blizzard executive Collister Johnson is as follows.
[Black Ops 4] will continue to push the envelope in innovation. You'll see that in the core game itself, where we have a number of new exciting developments to roll out very soon, but also in the game's appeal on growth platforms like PC, where we've invested significant dedicated resources and design time to make sure we can deliver a great PC game to serve that community.
A full Black Ops 4 reveal is scheduled for late next week, which we'll be on hand for. Rumours have been swirling that the game will ship
without a single-player campaign and in its place a new Battle Royale multiplayer mode. So, not long to find out which if any of that - is true.
