Gone North Games has released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming first-person puzzler A Story About My Uncle, and also announced a May 28th release date for the title.
The new gameplay trailer takes a look at how the character will traverse the rather puzzling world in a search for the protagonist's uncle. The game takes place in first-person perspective, while being completely non-violent and focusing heavily on traversal and exploration mechanics rather than your typical shooting.
The movement through the world in A Story About My Uncle is a crucial part of it’s core gameplay - focusing on swinging yourself through caverns with a grappling hook mechanic that gives the player a wonderful sense of speed and freedom. Soar through a game world with a unique art style and a mysterious story unraveling slowly before you.
A Story About My Uncle started out as a university project, and was quickly nominated for Game of the Year in the Swedish Game Awards 2012. A demo has been available since 2012 which you can find over here, though the final version is planned to include far more content including new areas to traverse and puzzle to complete.
A Story About My Uncle will be available exclusively on PC come May 28th.
