Touted as the mega-hit videogame from 1996, STRAFE from Pixel Titans and Devolver Digital looks to recreate the intense action and feel of games like Quake and the original Half-Life and meld that with procedural generation for its levels, and rogue-like progression. That's if you can survive for more than a few minutes.

The launch trailer, which helps sell the over-the-top violence and the tongue-in-cheek '90s aesthetic is basically a short film. A fairly entertaining one at that too.

We've had the chance to go hands on with the final version of the game for a few days now, and it's safe to say that they certainly nailed the look. And the way in which blood spills out and covers entire environments would have friend just about every 1996 PC.

I have it. It's ok. The guns don't have the impact I'd like them to have, and I get some really awful frame drops in some areas.
