The indie team at Brisbane-based 5 Lives Studios has revealed the first gameplay footage of Satellite Reign, the crowdfunded project pitched as a spiritual successor to Syndicate.
Although disclaimered as still being very much in a pre-alpha-state, with the developers stressing that "nothing is finished", the game looks to be coming along very nicely, less than nine months since the project was funded.
The video was actually meant to demonstrate the agents coats reacting to wind from the cars zooming by, but before we knew it we were showing crowds of civilians, CCTV cameras, cover usage, x ray camera mode and even a couple of enemies..
The video was recorded at 1920×1080 @ 60 fps on a 2nd Generation i5 PC with a Radeon 5970 using Fraps.
Watch the clip below and find more details on the game's official website.
I like a lot of the little details they're going for (I immediately noticed the jackets being pushed by the wind as cars passed), and the camera as it tilts maybe as much as 10 degrees to give you a 'better view' dependant on where it is.
I can't wait to see some of the menu UI, as well as some of the new mission types.
just noticed this thread, the camera is indeed dynamic mike, it rotates around slightly to get a better view of the agents that would otherwise be obscured by the scenery
