Key team members of the Hand of Fate development arm of now defunct Brisbane-based Defiant Development have formed Spitfire Interactive, revealing the new studio's debut title, Capes -- a "gritty superhero turn-based strategy RPG".
Honestly, everything written above and shared by the new studio is all we really needed to hear, as Defiant was occupied by too many talented people not to defiantly rise from its own ashes and emerge triumphantly making games again. With Capes being the culmination of a group of people going back "to the roots of why they started making games in the first place". Here's the official spiel on Capes: Return to the Golden Age where heroes saved the day for fame and glory and villains concocted schemes in glorified games of cops and robbers… until it wasn’t fun any more. One dark day, the villains truly won, brutally wiping humanity’s protectors off the face of the planet. After nearly two decades of villains running the world and instilling a fear of superpowers, a new generation of heroes are ready to stop the filth of crime from spreading or die trying.Capes is slated to hit Steam in Q1 of 2023.
