There’s a large number of different gaming mice out there, covering various brands, models, and styles. One mouse might be designed purely for competitive FPS gaming, another might be looking towards the MOBA scene, whilst one might be designed for more casual play.

As per the intro the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless features a right-hand grip design, and for those that associate grips with classic gaming mice the most notable comparison would be the Razer DeathAdder in terms of shape. It’s a classic feel to be sure, larger than most, but comfortable and easy to glide around with on a mousepad.

Weighing in at 79 grams the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless is also super light, and the matte finish adds enough grip as to not feel loose or slippery when clicking away. Plus, it keeps palm and finger sweat off of your kit. Yeah, apparently fingers sweat – who knew.

The only real downside is the lack of textured grips or even rubberised grips on the side, though the absence might come down to the esports focus. Created with a mind towards (and tested with) competitive esports athletes, you can see why Corsair has opted for a minimal no fuss design here. One that eschews extra bits of comfort like, say, rubberised accents. Minimal, with clean lines and what you’d call a tasteful amount of RGB, the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless has a great overall feel. Especially when you fire up a game that relies on precise movement.

Going wireless does mean that the Sabre errs on the more expensive side of the gaming mouse spectrum, but the fact that it nails its competitive ambition whilst going wire-free does explain the somewhat high price-tag. The good news is that if you’re looking for a less expensive version, it exists in the wired model. Going back to the no fuss design, another downside would be the lack of DPI switches on top. Those one or two little buttons that let you easily switch between different programmed or in-built profiles. There is a dedicated profile switcher, but it’s located underneath.

The Sabre does allow for profile storage and profile management through Corsair’s great iCUE Software, so if you’re of the type to program a mouse specific for certain styles of games, or simple desktop tasks, you’re covered.
