Hi everyone,
I really need some help to find some RPG games that I can download. I currently have Origin and Steam on my computer, so happy to download from them (would actually prefer it, unless you can refer me to the actual online store to buy the game). I am looking for games that are either exactly the same or very similar to Arcuz and Castaway. I also really like the aspect and game play of Ratchet & Clank. I currently buy a lot of games off Bigfish but I am going through a lot of games. I am new to the whole big pc games. I do own the FATE series which I enjoy from time to time but am looking for something to play in between. What I am looking for is an easy based game, I am only a newbie at full pc games and even on other console's can only play basic games like Crash Bandicoot or Ratchet & Clank 1. I have just downloaded Tomb Raider, yeah it's fun but I don't like having to exit out if I get stuck and there are just too many controls and ways to die. I want simple controls, an exploring game like the early Ratchet & Clank where you can either just run around breaking lights to get achievement's or you can continue on to kill the boss. I like to collect coins or anything to be able to level up my character or weapons. I like games that you can run around collecting things so then you can buy stronger armor to continue through the game. This is what I really liked about Arcuz and Castaway. I like crafting achievements as well like Castaway. But I do mainly just want a fun adventure game where you are able to just run around and collect or run around and kill.In game achievements are a big thing for me and I DONT like any games that a horror or anything to do with witches or demons etc. I have read a lot of posts about similar topics where people recommend Psychonauts; its a little to childish for me but along the right line. I have also played the demo for Bastion but I want to see what else people can recommend. Games like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty just scare me with the controls and technicalities. If a few people could help me that would be great, I've been looking for months and I just want a good game that I can play on my computer without having to go out and buy a Playstation and ask my brother back for my Ratchet & Clank series. Thanks, everyone. |
Did you ever play Banjo Kazooie on the N64? There's a spiritual successor that came out recently called Yooka-Laylee that's on all platforms. Also, gonna suggest the new Legend of Zelda, but maybe the controls are too complicated for you. If you can get your hands on a WiiU, the game is lots of fun imo
Also you seem to be confused about what an RPG is. Crash Bandicoot isn't an RPG. Any recent games you played that you enjoyed? |

I don't really want to have to buy a new platform to play video games. As I said I like Bastion and FATE. I can get into Tomb Raider but I do die a lot. I just want to be able to find an offline Adventure game. My main criteria is Arcuz and Castaway and Ratchet & Clank 1. I know Crash isn't RPG but it is a game that I could play. Where can I get Zelda from? is there an online store you can refer me to? |
You could try looking at some indie games, stuff I've played recently that I enjoyed that might be kinda what you're looking for: Ori and the Blind Forest, Hollow Knight, Little Nightmares, Night in the Woods. They're all on steam too

The spiritual successor to Banjo Kazooie is Banjo Tooie, and then Conkers Quest, and then Conkers Bad Fur Day. Where can I get Zelda from? is there an online store you can refer me to? Which Zelda? LttP is available on numerous Virtual Console platforms. A Link Between Worlds (3DS) is a LttP Remaster - it's almost as good. Ocarina of Time is available on 3DS is mostly an all-round improvement. Majoras Mask is also available on 3DS. last edited by Raven at 15:54:21 29/Nov/17 |
Pretty sure anyone talking about Zelda right now would be talking about Breath of the Wild
|
SE has one of the old Star Ocean games remastered on special at the moment.
|
try Torchlight and Torchlight 2 on steam, easy, cheap, great fun
|
Have to say I watched the Ratchet and Clank movie recently after playing the latest game on PS4 and it wasn't half bad!

No mate, all platform means its on everything including PC. Like I said, Zelda = WiiU or Switch. |
Like I said, Zelda = WiiU or Switch. Not necessarily... I've been playing it emulated, though it requires an overclock to around ~4.5Ghz as well as a bunch of speedhacks in order to get a stable 30fps framerate in towns. With all of that stuff including graphical enhancements it's easily the best "version" of the game, despite being a pain to set up and legally dubious. Much prettier than the Switch/WiiU version when running at 4K though. last edited by SwissCM at 16:41:07 30/Nov/17 |
Can you play it in bed though? Thats almost entirely where I use my Switch, I've hardly used it docked at all. Which is weird cos I figured it'd be completely the other way around, I figured I'd just use it as a traditional console and not use it portable at all, but I underestimated the awesomeness of gaming in bed

Yep!
I own a GPD Win and use Steam In-Home streaming to play games from my HTPC, which is where Zelda BOTW is installed. |
the whole game works now swisscm?
i had it running on the emulator a while back, but only the first bit of the game was working. |
It's completable. The only issue is the occasional minor graphics glitch, which are gradually being hammered out. Stability has been perfect for me too, I haven't had a crash yet.
|
sweet, will go do some updates and give it another look!
|
I hope both you f*****s bought the game. It's a damn near masterpiece.
|
Thanks, to those who could recommend some PC only games for me. I've found a few games on EB to buy. Researched Zelda and definitely can't get it on PC :(
I'll just have to keep looking out for some fun Adventure games. |
Why are you buying PC games from EB?
|
Not strictly RPG but Stardew Valley, Braid and Machinarium (so good) are all worth a try.

I just started playing Grim Dawn. It's kinda like Diabo in play style I guess. https://www.gog.com/game/grim_dawn |
I've just started playing Transistor, it's pretty cool. As is their first game, Bastion.
