I've been searching for a long time for a car that is relatively unique on the roads around here, but can still fit a child seat in the back. I originally wanted a toyota 86, but after seeing hundreds of them a day, I had to find something else.
After a very long search (and a lot of saving), I present to you, my 2013 Camaro SS 1LE 6.2L V8 426HP http://i.imgur.com/UXmR0mq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5L8NAbn.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RPKq4nw.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sZk37dM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/GMtqraW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SsSVakf.jpg |
Firstly, c***.
Secondly, how much and where did you get it from? |
Firstly, I get that a lot :P
Secondly, more than I care to admit. Bought it through SCD performance conversions. |
your car is faster if you say it in horsepower
what car did you have those plates on previously? pretty sure i've seen them around and judging from where all the photos are taken you're northside around my area |
How do I convince wifey we don't need the Disco4 and we need this instead..
|
Not even in the same end of the budget at all...
Looks tough though. Much like a Chrysler 300C, I've found visibility from these to be woeful... that being said if she's loud enough, most obstacles on the road will move out of your way. If it's not too personal to ask (I know roughly what the SS's are worth) did you buy it outright, lease it, or are buyin it from the bank? I ask as I've gotta move on from my current wheels and whilst I'd love to buy new, I [personally] can't justify big money on a loan. |
Vroom! :D
can still fit a child seat in the back Sad face. Please don't post follow up pics after the kids have destroyed the interior, they'd be too much to bear. |
how is your fuel economy around the city?
|
manual too nice :)
hired one in the states, love that v8 |
Fuel consumption is currently 11.9L/100km, so pretty good considering the size of the engine. I don't drive it every day, it's more of a toy. My other car is a Prius *gasp!*
Visibility is actually pretty good when driving. Parking can be a pain though. I'm glad it has a reversing camera with proximity warnings. Haven't been pulled over yet, even when I drove it without plates. |
Looks tough, was thinking about one, but for the money, I'd have hard time looking at anything other than a gtr (but thats just me). I'm keen to see how much the new mustang GTs will cost when they are locally delivered in 2015.
|
mustang GTs will cost when they are locally delivered in 2015. Probably the same price they always been since they think we are Australians |
Same LS3 as my GTS I gather? Do like but with a second kid on the way I'd have no chance of getting a two door past the wife.
Any mods planned? |
fuel economy is for chumps! pretty much |
Nice car
too bad it's the same colour as the road, i mean surely you buy a car styled like this for looks then have a colour to blend in? A little odd. |
I'm led to believe it's the same LS3 so parts & servicing is relatively easy.
I plan on plastidipping the gold sections of the Chevy bow tie to black. Maybe halo headlights but that's about it. It's already full of track upgrades as it's the 1LE package. I've always wanted a graphite colored car, so I bought one. The Matt black hood looks better on graphite than most other body colours. The ones available in Australia mostly come in bright yellow and everyone says "look Bumblebee!" Mine looks like it ate Bumblebee for breakfast. |
How many kms on the clock or was it run out new?
|
600km
I don't believe you can buy them new here without paying some ridiculous tariff. |
^6000km, missed a zero when typing on my phone. I wish it was only 600.
|
If you are interested I can offer you a brand new unused K&N filter to suit delivered for $50. usually $100 in store. I picked one up but ended up getting given a VCM otr and it already had a filter. It's just sitting in my tool box ready to go if you're keen drop me a PM.
|
Very nice mate. Mad jelly.
|
Wowzers, nice!
Yeah I like a nice white car for high visibility. |
hmmm For his son I think but it wasn't a MY13 |
Do want!
Although I'll wait till they are released here... if ever ;) |
Really like it. Was seriously considering one before I got mt bmw. The one I was looking at was 130k, yellow and black with official transformer logos on it. Great looking car, well done.
|
Not hating but you spent your money better on the bmw if you spent that same amount on it
what model? |
Jesus 130k? These will be cheap as chips in comparison when Holden starts importing.
|
Wicked ride man!!!! Must feel awesome every time you enjoy a cruise, huh? :)
Unique ++ |
Honest question, why buy such an expensive toy that you use maybe every second day? Wouldn'tyou have more fun using that money on some crazy holiday?
|
Honest question, why buy such an expensive toy that you use maybe every second day? Wouldn'tyou have more fun using that money on some crazy holiday? Once a holiday is over, it's over. Can't happen again in two days. Holidays after the fact are just ways for self-serving people to compare how in touch they are with the planet and other cultures. "Oh I've been here, and there, and oh! There too!" - When in reality you went and saw some trees, water, sand, dirt, some concrete buildings. I'd take a car over a holiday, any day. |
Conversely a car ride is only a few hours long at a time. Anyway it was just an example of an alternative.
and you're right, it's just a way for self serving people but not everyone is selfserving. |
You must be fun at parties |
awesome, very jealous!
|
maybe he does holidays too? think of that?!?!?
|
nah but for the cost of that car he can have a made holiday. Unless he does both then he's just a rich prick and grats on the new car.
|
Maybe he likes cars?
Dumb post of the thread goes to you, friend. |
I do love new camaro's. And old ones.
Can't justify a ~$25,000 car (base model in 'Murica ~$50k for top) costing ~$100,000-140,000 here. Even factoring USD : AUD Just... Can't... Otherwise I'd be driving one :/ |
you went and saw some trees, water, sand, dirt, some concrete buildings. What the f***? lool |
I do love new camaro's. And old ones. I know, how f***ed is it? Don't forget though, LHD to RHD conversion costs so there's also that. Stupid best beaches tax :( |
Can't justify a ~$25,000 car (base model in 'Murica ~$50k for top) costing ~$100,000-140,000 here. Yeah this is what kills the dream for me. |
you might be surprised what is coming...
Aesthetics are important to be sure, though economic sustainability has been coming longer still |
If you want a car that's "relatively unique on the roads around here" then check out my mates Subi-Rover;
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll80/82leone/image_zps059a8f69.jpg Not that it's actually allowed on the roads though... but props to Shaneo, and his magnificent beast. Also, nice car I guess :p Looks like it would be a sweet ride but it might be difficult getting into those Macca's (or was it the toombul shopping centre?) carparks. |
you might be surprised what is coming... Not at all.. 90k AUD CTS-v's are not much over a year away. |
I like cars. I like travel. ¿Por qué no los duos?
My passport has quite a few stamps, I'm going back to the US & Canada later this year for a couple of months. I had considered buying a BMW, but I'd just be driving a car that no one else really cares to see. With this one, most people stop to look. I kind of like the attention. I just waxed it for the first time today. It's amazing the difference it makes. |
Wouldn'tyou have more fun using that money on some crazy holiday? lolz, no. and scooter, i gotta take a pic of the pumped up volvo 240 that cruises my neighbourhood int he morning, when i first saw the pic above i thought that was it. its a 240 wagon, on this massive f*** off chasis and wheels. looks awesome |
I like cars. I like travel. I kind of like the attention. You sir are normal. |
i dunno, is it normal to like wasting money on traveling?
|
i dunno, is it normal to like wasting money on traveling? When there are complete industries based around it then yea it's normal. |
Don't worry about spook, he is as wrong the other clown in this thread
|
i dunno, is it normal to like wasting money on traveling? There ain't no better way to spend it. |
Youd want to get a killer deal to even bother with one in Australia. Perhaps i have just seen enough of them here that they really dont get a second look from me anymore, actually they dont even get much of an initial glance they are so common. By common i mean you see them here like you see falcons back home.
If you shop around here you can pick one up with 10k miles on the clock in top condition for around $25,000. |
Arkansas
The roads here are covered in camaros, vettes, mustangs, chargers and challengers. The only type of car that out numbers them is of course pickups. I have to say though as a personal choice after driving a number of these cars i can really see the appeal of the pickups, they are comfortable as hell to drive visibility is second to none and you can do a heap more with them. On top of that you dont need a shoe horn to get in and out of them. I priced a GMC Denali while i was back in Australia last time and the going rate was $125,000 for a second hand one. My father in law got one here brand new for $42,000. Personally i think youd have to be completely off your head to pay Australian prices for current US vehicles, there pricing is beyond ridiculous its outright retarded. The other thing is i still have more faith in the reliability of Jap cars such as Subaru, Honda and Mazda over any American car. |
ArkansasNice. I'm in Ohio; if I end up road tripping (which I hope to at some point) I'll let you know and we can grab a beer :) The other thing is i still have more faith in the reliability of Jap cars such as Subaru, Honda and Mazda over any American car.The ads on TV here just reek of desperation - Ford have a series of ads that are all about how much better they are than Honda. Hondas are fkn EVERYWHERE here, so I'm not sure if it's a local phenomenon, but they are just trying to hard to make people want to not buy Japanese cars (and, as far as I can tell, failing badly). |
Nice. I'm in Ohio; if I end up road tripping (which I hope to at some point) I'll let you know and we can grab a beer :) Absolutely, it'd be great to see someone from back home if you were just passing through. Truth be told Arkansas is a nice state there isn't to much to see here people generally just pass through heading to somewhere like Texas or New Orleans. I'd have to drag you down to the range before having a beer though :) The ads on TV here just reek of desperation - Ford have a series of ads that are all about how much better they are than Honda. Hondas are fkn EVERYWHERE here, so I'm not sure if it's a local phenomenon, but they are just trying to hard to make people want to not buy Japanese cars (and, as far as I can tell, failing badly). I do see a lot of Hondas and another car that's pretty popular here is Lexus, they are fairly common. As for local car brands not doing as well as you might expect there is one thing that comes to mind that I hear a lot here. Americans don't seem to be as in love with gas guzzlers as they used to be and I constantly hear the moaning about fuel prices just like I do back home. Jap cars have a reputation for being good on fuel and even if it wasn't true I think most Americans would believe Jap cars are in general cheaper to run anyway. I hear guys at work comparing and bragging about mileage where I guess in days gone by they would probably have been comparing horsepower. |
That's because Japanese cars do things like multiple sized injectors per cylinder, turbochargers, VVTI, V-Tech, etc.
Most American cars as of a few years ago were still using pushrod engines where DOHC (Quad Cam for V engines) has been on jap/euro cars for a very long time. The American way is all about displacement and supercharging, it's only been the past few years where they've pulled their head out of the sand and started to take up these fuel efficient technologies. A few years ago in the car scene, you could tell when you were talking to an American just by the type of engines and forced induction they prefer. I say that in a general sense. I'm sure some American cars have used overhead cams for some years, but the vast majority didn't. |
There are good things about a push rod engine of course. Reliable, cheap and lighter than an DOHC engine come to mind.
Hell Holmart had the supercharged LSA For $10,000aud a month back. A steal for a brand new 470kw engine. |
Furgle, you may have inspired me to get a muscle car (thinking Shelby GT500).. PM me how much you paid for it
|
who said i was going through with it... gonna do some research, get quotes etc.
|
That's because Japanese cars do things like multiple sized injectors per cylinder, turbochargers, VVTI, V-Tech, etc. part of the reason that the pushrods are still used is because of DoD, or displacement on demand, it is easier to have a system that shuts down cylinders on a pushrod engine |
Oh you're one of those people eh. Talk about yourself mate. Interesting how everyone responds positively when someone shows off photo's of their car, but when someone "talks" about getting one, people (in this case Audi) are so negative. |
Who cares how the valves are actuated? For the power/weight/size/fuel economy/cost to manufacture & maintain, it's bloody hard to beat a GM LS motor.
Don't think i'm some one eyed git either, my last car was a VTEC Prelude |
maRtz Please read the thread. I have the same engine as OP and possibly the same driveline. I have been nothing but supportive of OP.
|
my last car was a VTEC Prelude sweetest of sweet rides bro |
Nice ride!
I'm not a car guy but I do like some of those yank cars. We'll done. |
hey martz, just remember to be a smartass to the cops when they pull you over for speeding in your new car eh? we need more entertainment like this
http://i.imgur.com/0rMCEUE.png
oi spook, I bet he even has a radio that plays something other than JJJ! How jelly are you? I miss my V8, but I don't miss the rego or cost of fuel (it was a slow s***box with no power, I just liked the sound it made) |
the geek in me is saying 'where's the sneaky' hydro mod
nice looking car dude |
Went for a drive to Tenterfield & back.
Fuel economy is quite good for a V8. (wife took photo while I drove, so not great quality) http://i.imgur.com/1v0oPap.png |
Very nice car, it looks very mean.

I originally wanted a toyota 86, but after seeing hundreds of them a day, I had to find something else. I've got an 86. You can maybe fit a compact child seat in the back but there really isn't any room for people's legs. As for seeing them everywhere, now I can't go a day without seeing at least another one. Considering there was a massive waiting queue (I pre-ordered before it was announced and I still waited 8 months to get mine in Jan 2012), they really do seem to be everywhere. http://i.imgur.com/WKhGH.jpg |
haha whoop. i gotta pull that head unit out, but im hardly in the car atm, so its a project for later.
also, im glad you included my comment in that martz post as i think it summed up what everyone was thiking nice and succintly. |

Considering there was a massive waiting queue (I pre-ordered before it was announced and I still waited 8 months to get mine in Jan 2012), they really do seem to be everywhere. This is true. However, there aren't many rolling around with built 500kw 2JZ engines in them. Dooo iiittt. |
gee whoops post is on topic, how did that not get nuked?!?!?!
Anyway what can I say, my attitude reflected the situation I was in. I drive accordingly to the road conditions and the surroundings (and I'm sure a lot of you do too). I wasn't endangering my life or anyone elses (only 12k over), I was just an easy target for an anal cop who wants to add some revenue to make sure his pay cheques keep rolling in. Nothing personal and I'm not pointing any fingers but I noticed some of you guys are hypocrites on these forums and I'm not saying that is a bad thing just get off my f*****g case. Thank you. |
Totally agree trog, maRtz must think he has xmen like skills to control a vehicle under unsafe conditions.
|
Buy a commodore maRtz, this way you become incapable of breaking any road rules. Waterways would be a different story though.
|
there was no-one else on the road lol. Only a cop car a few hundred meters ahead.
In NT there is a road that has no speed limit, instead there is a sign that says drive to conditions or something like that so the concept of driving to conditions does exist in Australia. Also a lot of common sense comes in to play, I don't drive around like Carmageddon. I actually 90% of the time follow the speed limit, but when the road is open, no other cars around, no cars parked on street, not suburbia etc. etc. then I go over a bit eg. 12k as there is no risk. I really find it hard to believe no-one intentionally speeds on the road even occasionally and say around 12k over at least, everyone here must be f*****g angels!! Buy a commodore maRtz, this way you become incapable of breaking any road rules. lol, I had a VN commodore wagon back when I got my licence, it was probably worse for breaking rules >:( last edited by maRtz at 12:05:48 09/May/14 |
there was no-one else on the road lol. Oh man you really don't get it do you? It's a said state of affairs when you have to repeatedly explain to someone the dangers of speeding. |
Oh man you really don't get it do you? It's a said state of affairs when you have to repeatably explain to someone the dangers of speeding. And I suppose you only use your 6.2L V8 engine's full power when towing massive loads huh. Come on meow, I bet you broke a road rule within the first 2 kilometers of driving it. Who here can honestly cast the first stone at his driving? Everyone's had a good speed here or there, get off the horse. The only point that can be made is maRtz should accept punishment for getting caught and nothing more. Preaching road safety when you own a 6.2L V8 holden when a V6 could do the same job is just lol. Meow, come on.. |
there was no-one else on the road lol. Only a cop car a few hundred meters ahead. So there was someone else on the road? What's the point in driving 12km/hr over? How much time does that actually save? If you averaged 12km over the limit over a 100km distance you may save around 6 whole minutes - whoop-de-do, and you would have used more $'s in fuel doing it and be paranoid/on the constant look out for cops for the whole drive.... Obviously over a shorter drives the time saving becomes inconsequential. |
Maybe he was driving to the moon Doing an oil change tomorrow. Always love the first thrash with some new oil in. |
Maybe he was driving to the moon Fair enough. If I was driving to the moon I'd probably be tempted to run a few clicks over the limit. Far less traffic on that route so it should be ok. Travelling at 112km/h (rather than 100km/h) you'd save around 22,380 minutes or 373 hours to complete the 348,400 km journey, yeah it's worth it then. |
While I don't always drive to the speed limit, I don't argue like a tool with cops.
No point. Do you really think with that sort of logic you will talk yourself out of a speeding ticket? Do you think the cop will just say "ok sir, you are right, carry on." |
bla bla bla...
I've been driving for over 14 yrs and never had a speed related accident, actually I've never had an accident lol. *knocks on wood* Common sense, road conditions, surroundings, risk etc are all factors I take into consideration when I drive and never had an issue. I know all about the dangers of speeding and I never put myself in this danger. Plus I would never put someone elses life at risk as well as my own. Let's not forget here, we're only talking 12k's over on a section of road where the speed was just about to change by an extra 10k's and I would have been only 2k over. I'm not "hooning" around at exorbitant speeds!! What's the point in driving 12km/hr over? How much time does that actually save? It's not about saving time, it's about enjoying the drive. Doing the speed limit is typically boring, especially on this stretch of road that was long, wide, open and no other cars in my vicinity. As I said before, I drive to the conditions. Do you really think with that sort of logic you will talk yourself out of a speeding ticket? Do you think the cop will just say "ok sir, you are right, carry on. no, I was just taking my frustration out on him, I'm not going to be a bubbly f***** to him. I understand he was doing his job but I was also challenging him to what he "really" thinks which I realise is just a waste of time but he was a cliche cop just quoting the text book. It's also at the officers discression, most cops go after the bigger fish that carries larger fines and demerit points etc. last edited by maRtz at 17:33:54 09/May/14 |
lolz martz, keep typing bro, im sure you'll convince us all eventually
|
What's the fastest you've travelled in a car Spook?
|
f***, i wish i still had the photos.
it was very fast (suprisingly, it was in a magna hire car in tasmania, not in my fully hektik skyline) |
I've only been 110km/h Spook. I drive responsibly.
|
i was on a race track bro, i dont ever speed on the road.
unless im outrunning the cops. |
Ah. Last time I went to a race track I managed about 260 in my 32 and it was pretty scary but awesome at the same time. Makes you get the throttle shakes.
It had more, I didn't. :( (Was using s***** 180km/h tyres and they weren't balanced too good..) |
i had a 33, so i was pretty far advanced on you bro.
|
Haha 'advanced' for a lemon r33 that popped 1 engine and caught fire
Nothing about your car was advanced rb26 > rb25, especially r33 rb25 |
this thread is classic qgl comedy gold.
points awarded to spook, whoop, trog and mission lolz at martz for thinking he can change rules set aeons ago federally by talking to a no stripes constable |
paveway: Maybe the timing was advanced (too far) and that's why it blew up? :p
|
I've only been 220, it was on the freeway but it was a clear sunny day and no one was around.
|
270 on bike, narrowly dodging cars full of handicapped children and the elderly.
I imagine the feeling in a car would be pretty amazing, but on a bike and without being in full armour it's just f*****g terrifying. |
I don't know how fast I've been, chances are it would have been when I went round QR on one of those V8 experiences but I never looked at the speedo :(
|
320 down coro drive but it wasn't peak hour and I had plenty of thought-provoking arguments ready for any brainwashed police that might pull me over
|
haha jimbo
Haha 'advanced' for a lemon r33 that popped 1 engine and caught fire would have beat your car bro, but yer, there was something suss with that first motor, second motor was much nicer. |
Nah it would have been slower - less power s*** tyres, old car, old driver etc.
Fastest i've done was probably at lakeside in the r34 as i haven't taken it out to qr yet which was somewhere over 180km/h speedo doesn't go any further but but the ecu has the limiter removed actually more likely to be in the r32 at qr, less power but longer straight |
So speaking of speed, if I wanted to have a run around a proper racetrack, how would I go about doing that?
|
333.36km/hr.
But I went so fast I caught 3,000ft of air man. Wasn't many people around so it was pretty safe. |
333.36km/hr. Haha, yeah if you count the aircraft I've flown I've been faster than 220. About 160kn or 300km/h in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk |
320 down coro drive but it wasn't peak hour and I had plenty of thought-provoking arguments ready for any brainwashed police that might pull me over 320 in your X6 with lame plates "awwyeah" lol |
Nah it would have been slower - less power s*** tyres, old car, old driver etc. Are you going on one of those Time Attack days? Or just a random drive day? Everyone keeps telling me to go up but I have no friends and I don't want to go up there alone because I'm an idiot and I WILL break something. Then I'm stuck up there. lol. |
^ That's why you buy a Skyline, they're bulletproof.
Except Spooks bucket of course. |
it been cammed up? you gotta get it cammed up.
I'm led to believe it's the same LS3 so parts & servicing is relatively easy. Enginge/box parts won't ever be a problem, but don't ding those panels! and 10km/l highway, 12-13km/l is about the same as my old 3.8 gets, and it only puts out about 130kw and the car weighs about 400kgs less. Looks like I can't afford NOT to have a V8! |
So speaking of speed, if I wanted to have a run around a proper racetrack, how would I go about doing that? www.timeattack.com.au is who i go through, they do queensland raceway and lakeside days i'd suggest going to QR first before you think about lakeside Are you going on one of those Time Attack days? Or just a random drive day? Everyone keeps telling me to go up but I have no friends and I don't want to go up there alone because I'm an idiot and I WILL break something. Then I'm stuck up there. lol. i'm pretty sure we have spoken about this, i haven't been for a while as i was / still am under going s*** at the hospital unless you have a friend with a tow truck that is going to come with you and hold your hand, you're still stuck at the track if you break something regardless of who is with you i'm hoping to do the august day at QR with teq who just bought a new SSV redline |
^^ yeah had a friend with a 4x4 who could tow a car trailer. But I've not spoken to them for ages coz they all got girlfriends and f*** off camping every day. useless c****.
we probably have spoken about it but I have a memory like a goldfish |
Except Spooks bucket of course. my skyline was beautiful :( i miss it somedays. http://members.optusnet.com.au/~c.broughton3/skyline.jpg |
^^ yeah had a friend with a 4x4 who could tow a car trailer. But I've not spoken to them for ages coz they all got girlfriends and f*** off camping every day. useless c****. worst case you call a tow truck and pay for a tow home.. but don't plan to fail, especially if you car isn't that modified there is less risk in it and just do a half day - a half day is only like 5 sessions, 1 session is like 6 or 7 laps (1 warm up, 4 or 5 hot laps and 1 cool down) it's not like you are pounding around the track for an hour at a time it sounds like you've over thinking it, especially for a practically unmodified car |
I miss my Corolla :( Was fast enough, pretty good on fuel and with the back seats down you could fit an army back there. |
Not sure if I like the blue or not. Fan of the mags though as long as your calipers and discs look fresh. |
Last time I was at CRD I managed to get a few photos of JUN. Pretty sweet stuff. It even has a bottle warmer.

What a weapon. More info on the car Ph33x? vids?
|
it's an r32
and that rear bar doesn't look very yellow to me |
There's strong correlations between excessive masturbation, not having any meaningful relationships, and driving a skyline.
you've got to be a complete tosser to drive a skyline at all, but to start posting pics of them in a thread about a (arguably) real car takes it to a whole new level. Shame. |
i think you just confirmed who the complete tosser is lols
|
Roon is just jealous that the longest skid he's ever done is the beer drool on his wife beater.
It has positive camber on the rear tyres so once the suspension sags it's got enough grip lol. |
be interested to see how it goes on the track
i personally find drag racing pretty boring |
watch closely as i take a firm grip of the steering wheel and (maybe) change gears
|
Lol the australian way
pull your head out of your ass after actually watching that s*** video boy does this comment come to mind: Roon is just jealous that the longest skid he's ever done is the beer drool on his wife beater. |
naturally aspirated and consistent - the australian way. ahahahhahahahahahah |
Yeah same. |
what, that's a bird driving the torana?

Ah the good old 7M.
If I recall, Toyota torqued the head studs on a ton of these engines at half the required amount due to some clerical/paperwork issue. Good engine after this though. |
Hi Furgle, I am looking to import and convert a Camaro as well. Can you tell me what SCD were like to deal with, how the whole process was etc, any issues with the car now?
Much appreciate the feedback. Cheers |
Speaking of new cars, I'm very seriously, not even joking, contemplating buying a new/second car purely as a toy.

I would love to own something vintage, maybe an old EH Holden, but what is stopping me right now is cost and knowledge of fixing it/having a mechanic friend. I've heard that old cars can have a fair bit of work attached to them, so I guess I'll just wait till I'm far older.
|
yeah that knowledge isn't just going to pop into your head, you either get in young and learn how to fix s*** (which is ridic easy on old cars)
or wait until you are older and can just burn money on mechanics for mostly questionable quality work |
I've heard that old cars can have a fair bit of work attached to them, so I guess I'll just wait till I'm far older. I'd argue the opposite Eorl, surethe 'old car' might need some more significant TLC to begin with, but as there's less electrics and complication involved, I'd think there would be significantly 'less' to do when restoring an old car versus rebuilding something from the 90's or noughties. Raven, I'd love to buy one of those Caterhams (or any of the Lotus Super 7's...) you are paying an awful lot for not much car tho :/ |

I had a Fpv gt 335, had it modded by Herrods here in Vic, ran 400 rwkw on the Dyno. Did suspension, gearbox, rims. Drove a Audi ttrs, loved it bought it, handling is tops.
Running a BMW active hybrid 3 ATM, in m sport the electric is so quick off the line, turbo 6 is smooth and all I need. New car next year, really love Ray Donovan's merc might look at that. Love cars. |
Mine is now in the shop for a warranty issue with the traction control
Here's my loaner car http://i.imgur.com/YGaGgxG.jpg My grey one is much louder but the yellow grabs a lot of attention. last edited by Furgle at 18:49:43 12/Aug/14 |
Thanks. I always thought the black ones were bigger, but they seem to be the same size
|
Ah, now that colour is much more in keeping with the utter sledgehammer brashness of the car.
|
Haha that colour is disgusting, grey is so much better.
Here are my boys; http://i.imgur.com/gC0o22ul.jpg |
