A press embargo for preview coverage on the Xbox One-exclusive Ryse: Son of Rome lifted this morning, and accompanying a round of write-ups out of a recent San Franciso media event, are a new batch of screenshots and a gameplay trailer from Crytek's Ancient Roman action game.

not gonna lie, it looks good. But I've heard nothing but negativity from people who have played it, saying it gets repetitive really quick.

Yeah, I so desperately want this to be good, but I can't shake the feeling that its going to end up being disappointing :(

The game looks great but I can see how it gets repetitive quickly, I dare say that the core gameplay is about chasing high scores from combos ect, Which other games like DMC and Bayonetta also do, however they have typically rich combat systems that keep it from getting overly boring. I'm interested to see if Ryse can also live up to that style of game play.
