Battlefield 4 - General Discussion
Well, figured I'd post this thread for general discussion, as pretty much every other BF4 thread was aimed at servers / beta / something specific.
Quick question to get the discussion started: I bought the Mexican VPN version, but origin is saying it unlocks on the 31st like the Aussie version. Obviously I'm gonna have to VPN to America to play on launch, but will that also affect battlelog or will I need a US proxy set up on my browser as well? Did anyone do this for BF3 launch and have any idea what to expect? |

Pretty sure you have to keep running through the VPN and therefore you'll be sitting at 180ms+. That's what I seem to be reading here when I look at people talking about if for BF3 a year ago.
On another note: What time on the 31st does it launch? I'm feeling a sicky coming Friday. |

I also got a mexican edition. Im preloading at this very moment-- Had to use flyvpn and connect to a mexican server to enable the preload option on origin. Once it started downloading you simply disconnect from the vpn and it continues downloading at full speed. I dont want to be around at 9pm tonight when preload begins in Aus lol.
I remember when BF3 released, flyvpn was under too much load for most people to use and activate the game. I recall using some other more obscure vpn tool to activate the game from whatever country it was that had the earliest access. Once the game had activated release on origin there was no problems playing through battlelog on my aus connection. I suspect it will be the same for BF4. Read somewhere the earliest release time is 2am Tuesday morning. |

Me too.... oh, wait, no. That wouldn't be a good idea. Don't think you'd want to entrust everything on me just yet hah. Wirl, I presume it will be just like BF3's launch, in that using a VPN doesn't do anything to Battlelog and you can go about your business shooting down jets. We'll have servers up for those who nabbed the cheap deal so you aren't left in the dark battling 600 pings. |

BF3 was the Jew version, BF4 is the Mexican version..
Ok so I bought my copy from cjs-keys and they said it should all be OK and no stupid f*****g Russian patch file situation again. I ended up getting BF4 + China + Premium Membership.. figured I'd go all in. Edit: TicclesAU is me. |

I can wait for the release date for BF4, I'm not that eager to bother with VPN's etc even though I'm still keen for the game. One thing I'm not really a fan of is this whole water warfare focus :[ I'm sure there is plenty of content though.

If you played the beta, the water warfare didn't screw with the standard type of play, even though the original Battlefield had driveable Carriers and Destroyers. Oh the fun of T-Boning the enemy carrier with another carrier. |

There was a port conflict on one of your servers, so it couldn't grab the rcon port. I've changed the port assignment and its online properly now. Check your server config page for the new port details. |

Split that into each of the main games you host, have tech support sub forums etc. Would make it a lot cleaner. (Unless you've already done that, I havn't actually checked tbh :P) |

I'm eager to see some of this "levolution" in action, really hoping for another open-area map. I just wish DICE would go back to themed expansions, like Bad Company 2's Vietnam pack, that was an awesome addition to the game. Also wish we had more destruction in being able to level the entire place and not set key points.
I'm still cautiously optimistic on BF4, though I guess that is in part due to the really badly optimised (and old build) open beta. One part of me thinks its just a BF3 expansion and the other part hopes to see more because what has been changed is interesting. Oh the dillema! |

I don't want BC2 type destruction, just ruins the level and game play when there is no structures around. Yeah I guess, though at least more destruction than what we have in BF3 would be nice. Maybe not on BC2's level, but somewhere in-between. Everlong, just right click a YouTube video and select embed code, then copy/paste. |

Considering the specs for BF4 are basically identical to BF3 (except more RAM) I'd imagine that it will probably run pretty similar as well. Apparently the beta we saw was a super old version (older than the version they were showing off at cons etc) so I wouldn't worry about it too much. |

Urgh,
Game seems to be running perfectly fine framerate wise but whenever I move mouse + keyboard (circle strafe around a corner for example) its this god aweful stutter/tearing. So much so occasionally its almost like multiplayer lag and rubber banding and appears like there is missing frames. Frame rates are ~70 with no drops so that's not the issue. Not resolved by V-Sync or changing the mouse input to/from raw etc. Latest drivers and my older drivers do the same thing. Ideas? |

GTX590.
I've tried on the absolute lowest settings the game will allow. There is zero difference. Firefights, explosions etc. all going off, no problem. Touch the mouse no probs. touch the mouse + keyboard to turn a corner smoothly.. Yeah, tearing issues. |

So it seems to be happening when new textures and geometry appear? What is you walk backwards and repeat a second time? A 590 was a...... 3GB card? Giving you 1.5GB VRAM total.
Fire up afterburner/precision and check your usage. I'm not sure how low the game scales but I know you can go past 3GB on a single panel. I'm curious to see fixes for as many probs as possible so all the boys can get in and enjoy on Thursday arvo. |

Its not textures and geometry appearing. Happens even in a tiny corridor. Or staring at a wall for example.
Its purely related to mouse + keyboard inputs simultaneously. Beta didn't do it. Walking forwards or backwards is a non issue. Its only the dual inputs. |

Hotspot shield is twaddle and Fly VPN (the one I've been using) is pretty much at maximum capacity (I'd assume everyone around the world is trying to use it to play BF4 lol). |

What.... Once I got out of the start area which was in tiny corridors it had all those tearing issues.. Got outdoors into a huge open area and the tearing/problems went away.

I still haven't got my key from cjs yet :( Don't rush, so far the game seems to have rubber banding issues, hit rego issues (I crouched behind a wall, then a sniper killed me despite not being able to see me from the angle he was at while crouched). I hopped in an armoured artillery vehicle and just crashed out too. Game plays super smooth on ultra with my 7990 though :D |

Running everything on Ultra with the exception to "effects detail" that has to be on high.
i7 2600k 6gb Ram GTX 590. ... In campaign coming out of the Shangai tower (the beta one).... 6 frames per second [raining, bucket loads of water in the air + lots of reflections on the ground + raindrops creating splashes I assume is the framerate killer).. :| Turn it down to high from ultra and was getting 50-60 frames again. Have left it on that playing through campaign and its been fine so far. HAven't tried multi, not really any local servers with people on them |

^ Wouldn't be surprised. Crysis 3 had 2 massive lag spikes. One with water then you splash in it, or shoot it. The other was objects that swing from ropes and wires etc.
It was quickly identified and fixed by Crytek though. --------- Anyone who is reinstalling drivers over and over and finding faults, be aware that Afterburner and Precision (if you use it of course) can/may corrupt your videocard drivers during install. If it does, this will manifest as slow/pissy performance, crashing ranodmly, not starting randomly, even youtube vids blacking out. After years of playing with drivers, I recommend that you 1: Revert your clocks to stock through Afterburner/Precision. 2: Close down After/Prec COMPLETELY (check processes) 3: Install the driver using Clean Install method. 4: Reboot before touching After/Prec. See if that helps. After people give up in gaming forums they go to videocard manufacturer forums, and a good 20-30% of the time it's been found to have been caused by the above. Even EVGA recommend it and they make the software. |

I'll be unlocking this later tonight, will jump onto my server to see how things play out but I think my main go is single-player first. Never actually finished Battlefield 3's campaign, bugged out about 10 minutes in and could never go any further.

Well I finished SP. its uhm, very short and ends rather abruptly with a lot hanging.
Geez by short I mean. I had the SP running for 7 hours. In that time I've done cleaning of house, out for lunch, mowing lawns etc. etc. etc. SP is only about ~4ish hours long I'd say. |

Can't get a good f*****g game between the laggy servers and the random f*****g CRASHING every other game. And the ANNOYING thing is the exp from my 100% is applied AT THE F*****G END of the game... I can't GET to the end of a game, so that was a f*****g waste... |

F*****g lol there are some glitches in this that should never have made it.
On rounds with one life (such as defuse mode). The entire server you will just randomly start switching into spectator mode, whilst alive. If you're spectating yourself, fantastic you can do something.... otherwise... wait until you're spectating yourself again. Rather funny watching the entire server running into walls shooting at the air and all the "wtf's" Worst bug ever. |

Well, first experience of jets are that they are totally f*****g useless.
A tank will kill one from halfway across the map in a few rounds but takes like 6 seconds of continuous fire from another jet to bring them down. The flying area for the stealth jet was stupidly small almost forced to do continuous circle and pretty much in range of every AA known to man. avoid them. Attack jets seem much better. Too laggy at ~250ms to do much with them though. But still seem fragile |

The thing that really s**** me is there's no independant land / air vehicle sensitivities. I might have to delv into ini's to see if they're hidden or something. Also, for anyone with Xfire, make sure you grab the latest 13.11 v7 drivers. "Up to 20% extra scaling in BF4". |

Yeah, its not a case of "welcome to" if you saw how many 10's of thousands of kills I had with the BF3 jets.
Found a local server with ~53 odd. lucked into getting a jet to test it out. Insane 'turbelence' type lag with huge rubber banding as hell even with ~23 ping.. Even swapping views would swap a few times due to the lag. Not complaining, it should smooth out over a few weeks. Just giving an idea of what to expect when people who haven't unlocked early get in. |

I just tried the local. Jets are definitely broken as hell with the rubber banding currently. (ping 21).
Was just in metro v2.0 (only worse) then crashed. Ah seems i didnt crash, admin changed the map (yeah, operation locker is really that bad) Another map with jets. laggy and rubber bandy (ping 21). A quick google "bf4 jets lag" yields they just seem to be.. broken. |

Why did they get rid of server queuing? spamming join is such a step backwards :/
Asked a few people on different servers now. Seems to be very common problem people experiencing rubber banding with jets (and jets only - heli's are ok). Lots of people getting random EA disconnects too. |

We've heard reports of Multiplay and Gameserver having some trouble with their servers, however haven't heard reports yet on AG side of things. God there is bugs everywhere. Its like Battlefield (original) all over again.I had my back to a solid concrete wall, below ground... Got killed by a guy.. inside the wall according to kill cam.. I loved Battlefield 1942.. Re: VPN's. After you guys have activated, preloaded etc (as I have) - Origin seems to want to disable the game each time I boot the computer. - What's the exact process you are using to keep it activated? If you're using the VPN each time, how long do you need to run it, and can you get into servers without having to use the VPN? Eg: Boot computer, (quit Origin), log into VPN, start Origin, disable VPN, load a match? |

If I restart origin I have to use a VPN again.
Maybe someone knows better cause I have only played a few dodgy games so far... I've had to keep the VPN running until connected to a server. Once in server disconnect VPN and reconnect to bf4 server. zzzzzzzz |

With the game alt tabbed and left running I assume?
What VPN are you using? My router won't do its thing properly (minimal VPN passthrough support) but the hidemyass software seems to tunnel through that. The guy who gave my his login yesterday is afk and I really wanna plllaaaayyyyyy..... :( |

I just used one of the VPNs on VPNGate to launch Origin so BF4 became available, then disconnected. Found a server on Battlelog and hit join and it looks like it's all working as intended.
Was a bit of magic in connecting to server, then disconnecting VPN, then reconnecting to the server to get it to login. |

Yeah pretty much use Mephz VPNGate suggestion (http://www.vpngate.net/en/) and connect to single-player, let it sync to the cloud then close off the VPN. Don't log out of Origin and you are all sweet to keep playing Australian servers with minimal ping.

Yeah but as I said, my router won't allow a standard VPN connection through it. At first I thought it was laggy VPN servers, then I tried a legit service with a random user/pass and it still wouldn't connect.
Had to use some software which probably has its own type of tunnel, figured borrowing a paid service would be best bet. All good, I got the login now. Cheers for the step by step though, sp just loaded fine. It's awn! |

If the server reports as normal, it should be locked off. No hardcore servers? I get a red screen of death and a PC restart at map change. Tried 3 different drivers. Glad I went with AMD since they and Dice are working together to give us the smoothest gaming experience... |

Alright my server should actually be hardcore now, seems there are a few bugs regarding settings for servers at the moment that DICE are hoping to fix soonish. I've yet to actually get into a game but glanced last night and a handful of servers were full after the unlock, though presume low numbers were due to it being 11pm on a Wednesday.
Also, do not play single-player. It is atrocious, boring and too many doors. Its pretty though, has that going for it, but about it. |

I see the jittering mephz was talking about when moving and using the mouse. If you look closely however, it's always on the mouse. You just notice it more when strafe/circling the edge of a wall etc.
Hopefully it's a simple mouse fix in the next patch. It almost felt like it got worse through the first 5 mins of campaign. |

I get sound cut outs too. I was hoping they would make the tank shell trajectory longer. Same with sniper rifle, it drops quickly.

Sniper rifles have zeroing. Drop doesn't matter if you zero correctly as the scope is adjusted accordingly, much like a real rifle.
Zero too far and you will have to aim down a little, zero too close and you'll have to aim up. Most distances are 200 & 400m zero's, not many maps are over that. Gave commander a go. Spamming team chat with what was happening and where to move tanks + issues orders, deploying C130's and supply drops etc. People seemed to appreciate it. Utilised the evac orders when you could see an entire team converging on one point, then got those guys to move to a different less guarded area etc. Team did really well and got some shoutouts so that was cool. I was expecting you could do a lot more as commander but really comes down to whether or not your team wants to listen to move orders |

Most maps seem to work well with a good commander, but that Metro-like snow map is just stupid. Corridors: the game. Overall though had a heap of fun, played with a squad of friends on TS and worked out really well.
I've only experienced a crash once so far, booted back in and it was alright. Running everything on medium but did turn AA and lighting off/low. |

Cool. Had a server crash on me. Now I can't join anything for the last 45 minutes just get
"ERROR Game disconnected: client closed down connection." or "Game disconnected: could not join server." or any other type of variations. Tried resynching internet, reboot. updating PB. "repair" under origin. [edit] Can launch singplayer fine. Can join servers with 1 person on it fine. Can't connect to any server with decent amount of people on it. Sigh. GG EA/Origin/DICE. |

lolz at the PC woes. Takes me back to my PC gaming days. Seriously the s*** you have to put up with just to play a game you pay for...ridiculous.
Having said that I walked into Target yesterday and bought BF4 on XBox 360 for $58 (with a $10 off flyer the chick serving me grabbed off the counter and offered me). Got home loaded the updates, installed to save my CD drive some work and I was in the game. However, my initial reaction = underwhelmed. The graphics look ordinary (too colourful, rather garish actually, models look s***, it's as if I was playing BF1 or 2). I dunno, BF3 looked way better but maybe that's just the couple of maps I played. Gameplay was a bit clunky. May be because I'm used to my levelled up BF3 soldier giving an all round smoother performance (easier to use guns etc) so I'm willing to persevere. All in all a bit disappointed and if I had picked this up sight unseen or as a demo I'd probably give it a miss, but on the strength of BF3 experience I will give it a good chance. |

Now that the game has launched world wide, it's just a matter of VPN to buy, then disable it after and start downloading / playing. No language hacks / VPN needed to play, it installed in US English for me. |

Anyone with a similar setup to me I've gotten it running quite well.
Win 7 x64 i7 2600k 6gb ram SSD. GTX 590. If having any stuttering issues and Win7, disable core parking makes a world of difference. Issue then can become texture pop in. Run everything ultra bar Mesh and effects set to high and texture pop in gone, stutter/rubberbanding gone. I run a few things on high rather than ultra just because im picky with frame rate but everything else on ultra should maintain 45+ FPS on those settings. Core parking is a must to turn off though. |

Core parking did nothing for me either on or off. All 12 cores are being used by BF though so I very much doubt parking would have helped me.
I run Ultra Textures and Filtering, High everything else. 0xAA, Low "Post" AA, Ambient Occlusion off. Supersampling at 170% (res: 3264x1836). I get about 90fps average, 55-60 min, about 140 max. Sits at about 2.4GB VRAM for the most part. There is a lot of variance in the frame rate which makes tweaking the game rather difficult. I found in Dom maps I was able to pump up the Sampling to 180%. On a side note, ShadowPlay hardly uses any resources, but the output video could be a little smoother. |

I'm not entirely sure I understand your post, but my point is that as much as I think PC is the undisputed home of FPS and I dearly loved playing Quake and Q3 and kingpin and CS and TF2 and so on, the f*****y around getting a game to run properly and patches and all the rest was one of the factors that eventually put me off continuing with PC.
Yes, the XBox is the red headed stepchild of the PC in terms of FPS but at least it actually with minimal effort and my gaming hours aren't spent troubleshooting. Anyway, I'm sure that discussion is played out so my other point was that BF4 looks and feels terribad on XBox and now that you mention it Eorl maybe it is to push the XBONE which is highly s***house marketing if you ask me. Tic what are the temperatures like? Are you just on air cooling or go the extra mile? Thinking about either the 280X or the 770, either one seems it will do the job well for next-gen.
Got into a few matches tonight, servers are still pretty shoddy. I've found games.on.net to crash the most but that might just be my experience. |

After hearing that windows 8 / 8.1 makes a MASSIVE difference in playability VS Windows 7, I've decided to take one for the team and see if that's true or not.
Had a free 8.1 pro key lying around, so I just installed it and will have a crack at it tomorrow. I can run pretty solid on mostly ultra settings @ 1080p but it still feels a little stuttery in Win7, despite having 70+fps at all times. I'll let you know if it helps or if it's just the same. Also, thank god for Classic Shell app. I love you, start menu. On a side note, I've just noticed my scroll wheel doesn't seem to work in the Ausgamers forums anymore o.0 |

it may not help i just remember with BF3 i always had issues even after a brand new install from origin, and "updating" punkbuster i was still getting kicked from servers (which could at least see the message in BF3)
I usually download a new pbsetup from punkbuster, remove the pb folder from the game, and re add / update |

Bleh I swear when I use Oceania filter different servers show up every time. have you got the filter set to hide full servers ? (seems to be by default), as that kinda describes what i thought it was like when that option was on. |

I think it's good they are listing faults as it gives me hope and faith they're actually trying to fix all of it up.
I mean, I've personally been having a blast with the occasional crash, so I'm not too fussed. I can see how it'd be a pain in the ass on match. Really for me, fix the queues, the crashes, and optomise the game a bit better so the framerates are consistent. Happy days. |

You forgot the rubberbanding lag to be fix, should be second to the crashing.
I only crash every half a dozen games but friends crash almost every second round. The rubberbanding lag lately has been troublesome across almost all servers. |

I seem to have fixed my client crashes by installing the directx redist in the bf4 folder as suggested by someone. Haven't crashed in a few hours when I was crashing every 2nd or 3rd game.
Didn't even think of doing this because I originally went to the microsoft site and made sure directx was up to date. fingers crossed anyway |

I've only crashed out because of a server dying which is probably 2 or 3 times in about 25 odd games. Graphics are fine, no network lag, etc. The only problem is I'm bad at it :(
Although I got a 6 kill streak before wifey distracted me and I died.. stupid wife. Edit: Also would be nice to nominate to join a serious squad or something. I hate ending up in a squad where the leader isn't doing any orders, nobody follows each other or (worse) it's got a sniper or two in it that hides in the bush on the other side of the map while you're all working together to take an objective. |

Anyone played around with making any kind of emblem better than making d*** emblems? I made a sweet ass picture perfect Swastika but people didn't appreciate the effort I had put in. I'm thinking of making it acceptable to the community by making it out of d**** and calling it a Swasd***a. I then moved on to trying a character. Everyone knows Homer Simpson right? It's a bit rusty and takes time working out how to layer the shapes to make an image like that, but it's fun when you're sitting there baked on a quarter and 10 cans of rum. http://i.imgur.com/qHnVm3R.png. The awesome face however is almost picture perfect. I'll try and do Doge next. (Edit: I have absolutely no imagination or ability to draw freehand. how many layers that ? It came very close to 40 lol. Real pain in the arse to do the lettering, that's why I left it as it was instead of making it perfect. Would have taken me another hour to fix it at the rate it was taking. Not worth it for something you didn't notice in-game. |

TBH I think it would work fine without the lettering anyway. Good emblem, mines like 2 layers, a skull with some cross-hairs on it lol Cheers, simple usually = better when it comes to emblems. As for the text, I originally wanted to make it say "Engineer Corps" but I ran out of layers. I think the "Engineer" tag is good in-game. It's quite large on the side of vehicles. Had a few people notice it and they immediately started saying "Hey, come gun for me next time you die" etc. |

He didnt die from a headshot, he died because the server thinks the other guy got a lot more hits first.
Currently whoever rounds the corner first has the advantage simple as that. Notice how he doesnt even see the other guy firing until after at least 2-3 frames into the death animation and grey screen? pause and see for yourself. It's not being headshot, its s*** netcode. Another great example of this currently is to fly around in a helicopter or a jet. There are two warning tones 1) locked 2) misisle fired/incomming. The same as BF3. Currently quite frequently you will get the lock warning, if you wait to deploy ECM/Flares (because sometimes you get out of range whilst being locked so why blow your cooldown) then sometimes you will get hit THEN hear the second warning tone. that never happened in BF3... ever. |

Is anybody else getting huge load times? Yeah, running on: Wind0ze 8.1 64-bit i5 3570k @ 4.2ghz 8gb DDR3 1600Mhz RAM XFX HD7990 running stock (3gb VRAM) 7200 RPM freshly de-fragged HDD I can get upwards of minute long load times in some cases. It's rare that I load before then, but it's happened on smaller maps at least. I'm getting a 256GB SSD this week to help mitigate it. Wirlwind, what sort temps you getting on stock? I'm at 65* on 3.4 I dare not go higher. Well I'm using my i5 now. I don't remember too well what temps my old 965 used to run, but it probably would have been about 5-10c lower than your temps depending on the day as I had a pretty baller cooler on it (I bought a new one because I was planning on OCing it past 4ghz and didn't want to rely on the stock cooler. Never did OC it any further though...) But when it was using the stock cooler, I would probably say it was close to your temps, it may have hit low 70's on a warm day under a heavy load. Bear in mind that my old 965 was a higher base clock though. I could hit 4ghz without touching voltage, so CPU temps never went up. Yours could still hit 4ghz, you might just need a better cooler + a bit of a touch on the voltage to keep it stable. Still, it's worth a try. Test it out and set 70c as your CPU shut-down temp. A single bump in voltage has never made that much of a diff, I've found. BF4 is sitting on a 1TB platter while the OS sits on an SSD. Same problem a mate was having after installing to a platter. Literally half the round to load on a short server.
He reinstalled to an SSD, loads as fast as the fastest players now. Can spawn into vehicles before others get on etc. Think he's got a 2600K and a 580. |

If you are looking for air coolers, go CoolerMaster V8. Its a brilliant air cooler and works a treat on both AMD and Intel CPUs.

For bugger all you can get a water cool setup mate $80 - 120 for the RTG ones on pccasegear.
I had a V8 like Eorl mentions and while it was a bloody good cooler, it was a dust magnet man... The water cool option made a massive difference and is pretty easy to install |

Really, though, when you start getting into that sort of range, you might start thinking about just buying a better CPU for another $100. That's the trouble with the good ole 9xx series Phenom II's. They're falling behind now and for not much extra, you can just buy something that will do twice as good. But if you're planning on keeping it cooled, OCing like a champ and sticking with AMD for a long while, grab an all in 1 watercooling kit for the CPU. Can pick them up around $100 and you can OC the balls off it. Noctua's top end coolers are pretty awesome.What fits on an AMD CPU though? Not sure. Most coolers come with both AMD + Intel chipset brackets unless they specifically say. |

That's the plan Stan. I can justify $100 for a cooler that can be used on the next chip to keep me going for another year or so, however I find it harder to justify $300 or so at this current time.

FYI: Almost all socket 2011 boards can fit socket 1333 coolers on them.
There's probably a ton of other matchups like that, but that's one I know of. |

According to this graph it looks like I'll be going the either the 280X or the 7970. Both seem to offer 3GB of VRAM, though I'm more interested in input slots as I have three HDMI monitors, one of which is currently connected with a DVI converter. Any suggestions?

Are you going to use Surround/Eyefinity as the results on this graph differ largely as they are single panel.
If you are, you'll need '2 of the big ones' for playability. On a single panel in the Beta I could hit 3400MB VRAM, but in vanilla the highest I've seen is about 2600MB and that's playing with Supersampling. The res was somewhere around 3200x1800 by that stage. |

I'm only starting to lean towards the red flag because of just how damn cheap the cards are, and the results have been staggeringly better compared to nVidia. Ph33x, I'm only planning on playing with a single monitor for now, I have two 23" but my third monitor is actually a 55" HD LCD TV so its not really that important I guess for extra slots.
Mind you, I'm tempted to just grab two 280X's alongside a full cooling revamp at the end of this year. Guess I can grab one for now to at least ease my poor medium performance. I'm not really an eye candy person - hell I hate shadows in games as they make no sense and are pointless - but I would like to proof myself a bit leading into next-gen. |

Difference is the 7990 is probably going to be $50-$100 cheaper. Just make sure you have some good ventilation. As with any xfire / SLi, it can get warm. |

However, when a better card comes along that just so happens to be the other camp it doesn't mean betrayal, it means opportunistic. Thanks for the suggestion Wirl, I figured that both seem to come in at just around the same performance so it was either one or the other. Checking Umart it does seem that the 7970's are now all out, with only one available for pre-order. Thing is I probably won't be upgrading until after Christmas due to all the money being spent on gazebo, PlayStation 4 and of course Christmas itself. Maybe better to just wait and grab a 290/290X in Jan? |

So have the issues been fixed yet? In about four-five hours of online gameplay I've had about five bf4.exe crashes and 3 or 4 server disconnects. Only other problem is occasional rubber bandy helicopters. Overall pretty good considering what people are reporting. |

Here's the rub: Even though the card provided to us by AMD didn't exhibit drastic clock speed fluctuation, other news outlets are reporting that retail boards acquired through e-tailers are showing major fluctuations. This would indicate that the board provided to the press were "golden samples," or boards tested or configured to not exhibit the same behavior seen in retail boards. This is obviously a problem, for several reasons. The boards we receive should be *exactly* the same as retail boards, period. But in this instance something is amiss, either with the press boards or with the retail boards, at least according to sites like the Tech Report and Tom's Hardware. AMD says the problem lies with the retail boards, and it's working on a driver fix that will "minimize this variance" according to the statement provided to the Tech Report. |

Heh, interesting Ph33x. I could always see both companies offering up pristine boards just to make sure they get the best score in the benchmark, but it does suck when a customer is looking for an honest opinion. I don't think I'll be touching the 290X anyway, way too many heat issues from what sounds like a rush to beat Nvidia.

That is true. The difference is (from what I gather) is that in Uber Mode, there is no such thing as a base clock or turbo clock. It just maxes the clock until you hit 94/95 degrees. This means golden chips will be faster while in uber mode as a golden chip will go faster at the same voltage, and voltage determines heat for the most part.
With nVidia's golden chips, they will get reviewed at the base clock rates and the only thing that makes them look good is when the reviewer overclocks them on air to see what they can max out at. Most manufacturers have pro overclockers working for/with them so the chance of getting your hands on a truly golden chip is minimal as they snap them up during the bin/test process. Sad. :( |

Well I'm currently a Powercolor Radeon HD 6900 2gb and it sees to run ok. Obviously would like a better card but it's not a priority right now. The high end CPU and 8gb of ram probably helps a bit.

Yeah Mickey that should be fine for now. You may see a struggle in a few years with the more intense titles like Witcher 3 and Watch Dogs, but otherwise it should be sweet.

So I stuck it in this evening, all the way. Took a little force during the screwing but nothing broke. Almost forgot to apply the paste, that would have caused problems with flow.
Anyway, bumped it up to 4.0ghz right away to see what would happen, it crashed not long after booting windows. So dropped it to 3.8ghz and it ran fine for a while then artifcated, had a hunch it was low voltage so I upped to the voltage a fraction. 1.4 to 1.424. It has been running fine ever since. HWMonitor shows voltage dropped from 1.424 to 1.416v during gaming, so perhaps when it was set at default it dropped too low. Max temp was 59degC, idles around 40degs. Case air flow isn't the best but it will suffice. 4.0ghz at 1.424 might be a little too hot :( All in all, not bad for a $38 cooler. Oh and it is HEAPS quieter, damn that stock fan was noisy, I thought it was my vid card, lol nope. |

The voltage drops because of vdroop. You need to make your CPU LLC settings more aggressive if you want to hold a stable voltage under load.

I'm just being an overclocking noob and using the multiplayer until it borks in windows, then I bumped the voltage up a tad and its stable. At 3.9ghz now. Can't get 4.0ghz to hold, temps are still good. Haven't really stressed tested it though.

Everlong, I'm seeing if we can get a loosely compiled list of names of all the servers hosted on AG. 1: For unmetered access, and 2: My friend randomly dc's from anything except AG servers.
You can determine if the server is hosted at AG by clicking "View Full Server Page" and checking the IP address. If it's 203.46.x.x then it's an AG hosted server. There are a few test servers and that's it. Instead they're renting them out to everyone. So you have a pile of AG hosted servers without AG written in the name of the server, and AG admins don't run the server or choose the ingame rules for it. ---- You can find a few servers by turning off every filter except 'Oceanic' - Then search for AusGamers. Again, checking the IP for a leading 203.46 is another way to confirm. Some servers say 'Bigpond Unmetered' as well and as far as I know, only AG hosted servers are unmetered. |

I'm having an issue with punkbuster: If you're running something like game booster, check that it's not shutting down the PB services. Otherwise, hit windows key + r and type services.msc Have a look and try find the punkbuster services and turn them on. |

I played on a Ausgamers Test Server, it was laggy as s***. I still get freezes too. I only got to play Locker once, it was alright. Also DMRs are awesome, I seem to do better with those than assault rifles.

The boats aren't really that OP anyway:
- They only have the combined power of a tank (hell, less than imo) - They can't hide as well as a normal land vehicle since the ocean is kind of large and flat - The armour on them can be pinged by miniguns I've had games in actual tanks where I've gone 30 - 1. I don't think I've seen anyone come close in a boat. Most people seem to realize they need to blow them up pretty quickly. |

I find the boats are all about positioning.
You keep at long range wit a boat as they can smash things from a long distance. You dodge almost all incoming rounds by driving side on when at long range. They take like 5% damage from them LAW launchers that engies carry stock. The miniguns and main gun rape helicopters and jets that come close. We've had runs in the boat pulling averages of around 40-5. Take them close to the land and they won't last long. The only time I seem to lose my boat is when the other boat suicide runs at me with the help of a rib or heli. That or engi vs non engi, etc. |

I just got BF4 and before I even started installing origin itself crashed and burned on installing that. lolz. Come on EA, do at least one thing right for once.

That EMP thing is manifesting itself differently on various configs.
I see it as a slight warping of my recticle in red dot sights, the UI will warp a little as well. But its hardly noticeable. The way I've seen people complain it would seem they are experiencing something far worse than this. I have commanded for many hours now (almost 3rd in .au for global command score) and hardly seen anyone complain after dropping thousands of EMPs (a few but comparably hardly any). Any screenshots of it? |

BF4 on a 770 with the right settings will sit right around the 1.9-2.1GB mark leaving you with no headroom. I dont think it is EMP, have it happening without any commanders in the map.The effect I get is sort of like it's rendering a 3D image and I'm not wearing 3D glasses. Happens briefly then reverts back, can't figure out what causes it. I haven't had this problem. nVidia card? They released a new driver today - I'd suggest a clean install and afterwards setting up SLI (if you have it) and setting Single Display Performance mode if you single screen as Multi is default. This will mean your driver settings are identical to mine. For a good week I played with video settings and I didn't see this issue. I have a feeling it's driver/config related and not something caused through ingame settings. The amount of people with this issue isn't extremely rare but not very common either. I saw a 20-odd page thread floating around on Blog forums around it - didn't see a fix last I read, I'll try and find it. |

Not a bad thing to mention I'm running i5 2500k CPU w/ hyper 212 evo but haven't OC'd it yet.
If it's already getting to that 1.8-2.1 mark, I'm probably better off spending the extra $40 just to get that head room just in case as I'd imagine other games will be following suit soon enough. Thanks heaps. |

Sure there's rocks here and there but it's mostly just a flat leaf / grass texture on everything.

My ambient sounds will cut out sometimes but gunshots and footsteps still go on around me. Eventually it fixes itself.

I committed the cardinal sin and bought BF4 on console, got it for XBox one. It was a spur of the moment thing :( Its actually quite good though, looks great and isn't *quite* as spastic on a controller as I was expecting. I mean, I'm still pretty spastic at it, but I guess everyone else is too, so it self-balances a bit hehe. Pretty fun though, maybe its cos I can just stretch out on the lounge while playing it, and cos it feels less serious I give less f**** when I die or when I lose.

I've been enjoying the update (i think, it's all new to me). Since i followed advice on here and don't join 64 player servers everything's been great. Mainly playing 32 or 48 player hardcore servers where there's variety in missions and maps. I hate noobcore in any game. I shot a guy in the chest with a sniper rifle from about the equivalent of maybe 2 car lengths away in real life.... he just kept on going. Yeah, what a load of BS. Noobcore gives you way too much health / nerfs the guns far too much. Getting hard to find a non china game that isn't full now though :( |

I've just got a single card and it seems to work well. Recorded my c4 jeep shenanigans last night
Unlike fraps, I didn't even notice it was running while it was recording. Some stuff I recorded manually and some I let it do its automatic time shifting thing. Both worked well with no noticeable lag in the game. The s***** quality of the video is just the way I encoded it for youtube, the raw video looks like it does in game more or less. |

Only trouble so far I have had with it was, the audio recording was set to PCM instead of MP3 for videos. Just started using the SKS, its got a nice fire rate, no wonder I see people using it a lot. I should really play on some other servers, I only been playing on locker. Yeah i got premeium now, thanks to the glorious mexico and a VPN thing. Looks like EA/Origin Mexico don't care about region locking as much. |

man i hate operation locker. like tonight the team i was on blocked the other team in their spawn, they couldn't get out or move at all. same happened last night except I was on the team locked into spawn. Just random nades lobbed into enemy spawn from just outside, camping on the paths leading from spawn and inside randomly firing rockets into the doorways to the enemy spawn. such a fail map

Yeah, shadowplay is awesome, my only real gripe with it is you can only record things that are in fullscreen. I usually play WoW for example in a maximised window, and shadowplay wont record it unless I change it to fullscreen in the graphics options :(

man, I gotta say. I'm loving this whole c4 + jeep thing. I never got the chance to do it in bad company 2 because others would always steal the jeeps or it would end up killing team mates. But in BF4 I've stuck to noobcore servers and no one seems to want the little jeep things so I just go to town sticking c4 all over them and go chase some tanks. It's awesome fun.
Did a bit of a distraction tactic the other night. Drove a C4 laden car up to a tank but missed the mark. Dude got out to take a look, snuck up behind him and stole his tank. lol. Dunno what's up with the s***** quality, don't bother with 1080p. It looks flawless on my PC, youtube has broken it :( |

Even just 1 repairer can keep it up for ages.
Those attack boat things on Paracel storm are very OP if your team can hold A and keep 3 boats up and running. Have at least 1 with SAM as secondary for taking down aircraft. Dominates the map. |

Even just 1 repairer can keep it up for ages. We can dominate 3 boats, even if each one had a stinger/repair on them. Littlebird and teamwork = the most OP vehicle in the game by a mile. We were taking out boats over 1000m away and out of lock range, not that getting hit by 4+ stingers in a hassle with the right setup. I pilot as a Support and I throw a bag onto the chopper before leaving. One squaddie as stinger+rep and one as SMAW/SRAW+rep. Unlimited ammo. Sting a vehicle at 300m to flare it out, then 3+ missiles fired after flare for a '1 hit'. If they have repairers, the stinger guy needs to hold off firing for about 1 second longer than he should to ensure they can't get any repair time in. SRAW/SMAW smash the boats in about 3-4 shots, 1-2 with help from the heli's cannons, which take out the guys in the back so quick that they have to pick between going for a swim or dying. We flew into a clusterf*** with 2 boats and a heli against us, came out on top with a server on the rage. Jets? No problem. If anything, AA using machine guns with someone who's a really good s*** is the only thing that can get in the way of said rape-fest. Adding the kdr among the three chopper people and you're looking at a round average of between 8 and 10 to 1. I hope they don't nerf it, but instead buff everything else. It's rewarding for the whole chopper crew when all this teamwork makes the difference. |

I'm pretty satisfied with the stability of BF4 on PC now, so I'm pretty miffed that we still don't have a date for Second Assault DLC. If they hadn't have made that pledge to supposedly redirect all development efforts onto fixing stability issues across all platforms, it would have been out by now.
Surely it's feature complete, because the maps have been on Xbox One for weeks now, so release it on PC already :S |

Question for the jet pros (if there's any here) do you use a joystick? I see people doing some absolute bulls*** with jets / choppers. Flying the choppers with a mouse is ok but trying to fly the jets with one is just retarded. I've tried an xbox controller and I just can't get used to it for either planes or choppers (weird considering i can fly an rc chopper with a controller which is pretty much the same layout as an xbox controller).
Like turning around in a jet. I see people pretty much turn on a dime to go from in front of me to directly behind me and I have no idea how the f*** that's even possible because it takes (me) forever to turn around using the mouse because you have to keep moving it for pitch up / down to work. So does anyone use a joystick / pedals setup? Are you THAT into it? I only ask because it seems a bit bulls*** that you've got guys on the server going 30+ kills to 0 deaths in a jet that no one can seem to catch or shoot down. I want to try and beat them at their own joysticky game. |

Question for the jet pros (if there's any here) do you use a joystick? I see people doing some absolute bulls*** with jets / choppers. Flying the choppers with a mouse is ok but trying to fly the jets with one is just retarded. I've tried an xbox controller and I just can't get used to it for either planes or choppers (weird considering i can fly an rc chopper with a controller which is pretty much the same layout as an xbox controller).Just use Mouse+Keyboard. Battlefield jets are so stupid and dogfights in them are even more stupid though. They require no energy management skills (apart from airbrake/afterburn if fighter jet) and whether you high yo-yo or low yo-yo to maintain ~300 speed (if it doesn't have AB's like the Q-5 fantan or A-10). Even real modern jets can't just keep pitching a high angle of attack and pulling 9G's forever, it will eventually run out of kinetic energy and eventually stall. #1 - the optimum turn speed in BF4 is the same as BF3, 300. Anything more than +/- 10kph of that is a big difference to your turn radius. #2 - you can't just keep looking at your target (can only look around when flying straight) so it's kind of a guess as to what they're doing based on what you think their move should be to what your move is. #3 - Use Mouse, Bind a key to up elevator (Pitch up). for e.g. I have "F" bound to pitch up, so in dongfights you can just hold F and don't lose any time where you would be picking up the mouse once you ran out of room. Then use mouse for aileron roll, A/D for rudder (useless in Battlefield really) #3 - ACM, the type of turn you make makes a difference. You don't always want to just be turning horizontal or vertical loops. You can do rolling scissors in Battlefield jets which will usually get you behind most scrubs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FF70t5qJpoU Here's a vid of me in a 2v1 dogfight playing IL-2 Cliffs of Dover on ATAG the other day. [Full engine management]. SpitfireIIa vs x2 BF109 Emil-3's. Flying CLOD makes Warthunder FRB look like child's play. Note the first ~30seconds how I do a reversal without ever doing a full 180' turn or 360' turn by using scissors. Burned too much Kinetic E and couldn't close the gap afterwards. ~2:00 is high and low yo-yo's. After those tips, its just practice. I highly recommend not getting too bothered about being a Battlefield jet pro. I only jump in them these days if I'm getting destroyed on foot or need to take out an ok pilot that keeps taking out all our stuff. |

My setup is this-
Throttle: W / S Roll: A / D Yaw: Mouse left / right Pitch: Mouse up / down I think the instant turns I see people making (in choppers at least) comes from a keyboard or joystick set to yaw because I tried last night in the test range and it makes one hell of a difference to turn speed but I can't actually play like that, I end up all over the place. It just sort of ruins a game when you have one person in a jet with a stupid score like 30 kills to 0 deaths and no one can shoot them down because the out of bounds ranges take them outside of the range of ground to air missiles, and no one in a chopper or jet can shoot them down because they're somehow able to magically get behind and instantly shoot them down. I am considering the possibility of maybe they are hacking but i do realise people probably are that good. Just pisses me off when "pros" jump into a game that's obviously full of newbs, just for easy kills. |

That Little Bird is a f***en joke though. I sank 6 stingers into one on Paracel and the c**** kept repairing it. They need to fix that s***. I had the same bug in campaign Tyoson. You just have to keep reloading the level and try getting to the door different ways until the next part is triggered. |

Gotta f***en love how this game crashes in the campaign as well. And when you get passed that bulls*** hard tank bit only to get headshotted by infantry was passed that bit and have to go all the way back to the tank bit, and then the game crashes again.

Perhaps repair needs a change. For example if you get hit a few times in a tank and have 30% hp left, then you repair. The overall hit points should be reduced to, say 95%. Every time you repair from heavy damage, your maximum goes down, to a minimum of 45%. That way you can not sit there in a boat/chopper and keep taking hits. Damage will out pace repair at some point.

i reckon for a repair the vehicle needs to be parked, soon as it's moving the repair stops. I've seen choppers survive multiple missile hits + AA guns shooting at it. It's just pure bulls***.

I pilot as a support and throw a bag onto the chopper before we take off. Unlimited ammo. You can fire several sraws and chase them across the map to the passenger to guide them in. Downside is jets, laser deg, AA turrets shooting out passengers. It's certainly not infallible. |

aaand just had this guy in a plane the entire game. His 1 death was a suicide, no one was able to actually kill him (he ejected over his spawn, not sure why he suicided)

They fly the plane / chopper outside of the boundaries and your laser can't lock on, they're not in the boundary long enough for it to lock on before they fly off out of the map again. He doesn't so much "exploit" the out of bounds areas like I've seen others do but seriously, the opposing team doesn't seem to make any effort to even try to shoot him down from the ground, and it seems like he'd shoot down choppers as soon as the opposition get in them (I was on the opposing team for a bit before I got sick of being the only one going after him) |

You can't though, stingers are useless s*** from the ground, they take ages to lock on and by the time you've locked on they're out of range. Then they fly off to let their counter measures recharge and go for another run. Needs some decent opposing team members who actually try to take them out in jets / choppers. It's s***.

Only things that can take down a littlebird with 2 engies is at least 4 stinger/aa hits within about 1 second, laser guided missile, jet ram from above, or direct tank/rocket hit. We fly over areas where we get locked so we can get ze kills. If it's a stinger guy, we count each one and pretty much wait for him to run out of ammo and move on. It's only when I see at least 3 seperate stinger locks that I start moving away. It's those times I'll use a countermeasure. |

Well I think I have more of an idea than you on the subject of what does and doesn't work so I'll leave it at that.
The idea isn't to kill the pilot, it's to dissuade it entering an area and if you're lucky you'll get a hit and force it to land and repair. In battlefield there is little reason to deliberately take a run at an area knowing you'll have to drop your counter-measures when it's such a target rich environment that you can just go elsewhere on the map until the person gives up carrying the stinger which they usually do because they have tank/armour troubles. 1016 kills with the jets in BF4, BF3 jet kills was 5,927 (combined) [I stopped playing before close quarters]. Haven't played BF4 in about 2 weeks, and last game I played in a jet from battlefeed: 843 SKILL +20 KILLS 41 DEATHS 2 K/D RATIO 20.5 LordHelyi 41 2 11,760 I avoid using them personally unless my team needs a boost and is getting absolutely destroyed. That's just my personal preference because battlefield jets to me are just a joke and I find it boring to "fly" them. It's not flying, it's driving in the sky and the 'dogfights' are hilariously bad. |

What does that even mean?When it comes to flight, yeah. I'm an avid aviation fan in the real world as well so naturally yeah, I like my combat flight stuff to be close to the real thing. Flying fighter aircraft (be it WWII or modern) is about a lot more than who can just pitch-up constantly (stick in stomach disease) and making the correct geometrically shortest turn to the targets six or deflection shot. In real aircraft and sims if you mismanage your energy and the aircraft you can't/won't always be able to take "the best angle". Pointing a real aircraft very precisely is actually very difficult. Planes wobble, bounce and drift around if you manhandle them to get shots. They're like boats in the sky. Not trains on rails in the sky (battlefield/arcade games). I'm by no means a Sim. Ace. I'm just a guitarist. When it comes to flight, yeah. That's fair enough. I still think you might be confusing jets in bf3/4 to jets in bf2. See the thing that s**** me most about bf3/4 jets is that it's stupid to try and track the other jet because there are no rear facing or flyby external views - just a stupid chase front cam that offers f*** all. People circle in bf3/4 because it's impossible to keep the enemy jet on cam during a split-s or rolling scissors for example. In bf2 you have 3 main cam views and the management of those views is essential. Being able to scissor, using the correct rudder for the situation, close to the ground/water isn't ezmode bf3 jet bulls***. The thing that, imo, sets bf2 jets over sims is that it doesnt matter what jet you or I choose, I'll still beat you if I'm a better pilot. There's no jets that outclimb or outrun other jets, there's no running away, no slowing down no "perfect turn speed" bulls***. There's no jets that outclimb or outrun other jets, there's no running away, no slowing down no "perfect turn speed" bulls***. Even if your jet turns sharper than mine I'll still win because I can boss you with rolls that you can't follow and you'll end up failing to manage the distance between us and pop out in front of me.But if you were to try to fly like that in a real aircraft or sim you'd be out of energy in no time. Looking at that vid, the basic necessary skill is knowing which turn to take (and managing views). Which is cool, it still takes knowledge to know which way to turn and when. But no 'dogfight' from the invention of the Wright Flyer to the F35 of today can dogfight like that. Not even a modern jet has enough thrust ratio to overcome inducing that much drag from constantly flying at high angles of attack. You also can't just hold the rudder full over as that induces extreme amounts of slip and induces a roll due to one wing not being shielded by the fuselage thus generating more lift than the other. Hold it with a little counter aileron and some elevator pressure to keep the nose up and hey presto you've got an induced spin from stalling one wing out ;) (which if you're trying to track a target and take a shot, people do accidently do it - it's called cross-controlling an aircraft, it's usually a big no-no unless your intention is to spin out) Anyway, I'm not saying that BF2 fighting doesn't take skill, that guy would know what turns to take and when better than I would (Like I said I'm no ace). But I'm just saying it's not flying. It's almost like saying being a Mario Kart pro makes you the next Ken Block :) |

I played bad company 2 online but I don't remember jets. The majority of games I played in, it was all about the tanks and sniping each other from either end of the map (meaning you had to aim straight up to compensate for the drop lol). Also choppers were useless because people would always just snipe the pilot and be done with it so no one used them. |

Comparing BF2 jet fighting (totally arcade, fly how you want) to a flight sim is like comparing bullet deviation in Quake (none, arcade, hardcore, shoot as accurate as you want) to bullet deviation in BF (lots, random, rng, not skill based). To say you need to be skilled to beat the rng bullet deviation in BF is like saying you need to be skilled in a real flight sim to handle the real nuances of flying a far more real jet. Pick your poison. |

I was explaining to Noah that a flight sim will be harder to operate/play/fly/dogfight with than a silly arcade game such as BF and if he wants to be all "Come boss me" at you (or anyone for that matter), then he should do so in a game which actually requires some form of skill to play. Maybe a game without fake external switch-to cameras which he's already indicated that he needs to survive. From what he's written so far, he hasn't even played BF3/4 enough to realise he can manually look around from inside the c***pit. If I really gave a s*** I'd bother to make one, but I feel that people who make 'look how skilled I am' videos are compensating for something else. Also, why would I keep old BRs of old games which I haven't had installed for years? BRs mattered for the 2 hours it took for a match judgement to be filled out. After that they were trash unless you need the occasional d*** reinforcement. If you weren't so bad at everything else besides BF2 you would have let go of that game when everyone else did. Changing camera view while flying isn't hard stuff. Basically what you're saying is you're good at jets, only in BF2. Grats man. It's 2014 now. I did 3 things (very well) in BF2, flew helis, drove tanks, and super fast medic spam. I did the same things in BF3, and still do in BF4 (but less tanks now). How do you manage something which is random? By knowing how to move and shoot so the deviation is always as small as possible. It has had almost no effect on my gameplay since about 2007. The biggest thing is dropped packets/netcode causing dust and thrus. Hitting the model isn't hard, getting them to rego can be sometimes. Also, why would I keep old BR's of old games which I haven't had installed for years? Landaxe and other old school bf2 players kept a lot of bf2 brs of good ladder finals and stuff they were a part of. Since you were a bf2 esports champion I thought you might have saved some of the epic moments. If you weren't so bad at everything else besides BF2 you would have let go of that game when everyone else did. lol how can I be bad at games I never played? Why would I spend money and time playing games I don't enjoy? Look at ali3nz, of course you can get good at bf3/4 I just find it totally unenjoyable. None? What's a map key? duddage. What? Why so terminology? I fly with a gunner and use my long term experience to know when to favour the gunner, when to roll/dodge, when to attack or avoid. My job is keeping the s*** in the air, keeping an eye out for what's coming and cleaning up armoured vehicles. Attacking jets from the pilot seat of a chopper in BF2 was never ideal, so you make sure the gunner is in a good position to attack when times are favourable. The key to a good chopper was both a decent pilot and a decent gunner with good communication. - How many more failed inb4 hurdurr attempts are you going to make? Since when did very well turn into 'legend'? So drama. See, if you genuinely thought I was bad, you wouldn't have bothered engaging in this discussion any further. However, since I've come to realise that all you have is flying jets in Battlefield 2, I'll be the one to terminate the bickering. In case anyone cares, the answer to my original question is: yes. I bought a cheap $30 joystick and although it still feels weird (maybe if I held it between my legs it'd feel more natural, hurrrrrr) it's a lot easier than quickly swapping between the keyboard to pull massive g's and I actually had a pretty decent run. Didn't manage to shoot many down but I did manage to not get shot down instantly! (I think I did have like a 7 kill streak though, maybe 5, which is amazing for me) In other news, got myself an RC chopper, gonna put my BF4 mad chopper skills to good use flying this bad boy around my back yard |

I find your videos pretty lol. Look at the time differences between each segment in a single clip. 10:26AM, 11:55PM, 2:40AM, 5:32PM, 3:45PM, etc etc.
All these highly varying times between every sub-clip indicating that s***fest of you pulling out days of source vids to find 3 mins of good shots. In your 2v2 heli vids you wrote in the vid description how well you smashed them but you happen to press tab during the match to reveal the fact they're bashing you haha! You do the occasional slowmo to show when a true shot misses, however you never do a slowmo on them shots where the round hits a wall 4 feet from their head and then you get a kill for it. Cool game when you shoot a wall several feet away and get a kill for it. Must be why it's still really popular. Nothing special here. Upload some source vids, or a vid of you nailing more than 2 people in a single segment. I couldn't find anything that impressive. I bet the pub noobs you were up against in that old game are all highly regarded esports professionals too lol. Is this yours? I don't think you qualify for giving judgments on BF3 or BF4. Yes because all clips must be in chronological order right? On average I frapsed for about a week for any inf video. Some specific kills like wake drags, huge no scopes etc were saved until I could be f***ed frapsing. The three videos are called "Singles" because they are exactly that, single kills that I thought were cool. Just to put your mind at rest. I have no issue hitting streaks in a game where they're actually a thing. What 2v2 video? I sure hope you didn't mean this one. Might just wanna read the description again bro, notice the large dose of sarcasm? The video was pure trollins of the highest order, between myself and aza. The inf box is tiny. I play with 30 ping. I do slow down chopper boxes where the box is far greater, especially when we're playing against euro pilots with 350 ping. It's a product of server side hit detection and not limited in any way to bf2 - as I'm sure you already know. lolstats. I guess you might have a point. It's ok bro, kdr is overrated. |

Come back with a positive kdr against people who shoot at things that are lined up perfectly with their hitboxes. Since the playstyle you like is jumping around and getting 1 hits with sniper guns, you shouldn't be out of your league in a game like QuakeLive. It's a few hundred MB and runs on integrated graphics, kgo. You didn't enjoy playing BF3 because you were bad at it. I see the highest time spent in vehicles was jets, and your KPM was the worst. Every other vehicle that you sat in, you did better than jets. I also see the most kills with sniper guns, and using less than 10 overall guns for any decent amount of time. You didn't adapt to the new game, you didn't even give it a chance. Instead you had a sook and ran home to your BF2 videos that seem to make you feel secure. Congrats on being a bad overall FPS player - one that needs to pull the best parts out of average gameplay to prove he's not a redundant mouth breathing human. My sides. |

Marry me!" but it never happens. They are all stored on my hard drive. It's just sharing them to people is impractical when your upload speed is 128k as it was for a lot of my early videos. The vast majority of the videos I've made are unlisted, shown maybe to one or two people but largely kept on there incase my hdd ever dies. I was in a sniper clan called rSG in which it was common practice for its members to release videos on a regular basis, which is how I got into it in the first place. As for "oh slinky etc..." that s*** is a bonus. There were, years ago, people who genuinely enjoyed my videos and that's cool. But far too few for that to be the primary reason to make them. Also a lot of feedback was simply "You're hacking" or Chocoblaster's pure hatred. I can see why you'd think this is about ego and reputation etc, but it's not. I just enjoyed playing bf2 a great deal and enjoyed making videos, both gaming and guitar as well. It's awesome to go on a nostalgia trip and remember the funny and epic moments from 6+ years of an awesome game. Noah is your name Pat irl? Na bro my name is Jarryd. Just got another copy of this crap last week. If you get it through Origin, you lose out on about $7 once you buy both Vanilla + Premium. Wasn't worth the sign up with a cd key company at the time.
