I have an idea for an Android app and have begun cobbling together some code in Eclipse. I'm a bit out of my depth and have run into a problem that I can't get my head around involving always on NFC (and I can't have users installing custom NFC packages). So I wanted to talk to someone about the possibility of building it for me.

The app involves taking GPS coordinates when NFC tags are scanned and uploading them to a web server (I was going to use something like Parse for this) where they can be reviewed and plotted to Google maps.

If anyone here has expertise in this area please PM me!

my simple idea is to use the phones camera to detect upcoming obstacles so that when your texting/facebooking/tweeting/youporning the screen goes black to alert you that you're three steps from being a "funniest home videos" clip

anyone want to design that, i'll only claim 20% of all sales, which seems fair to me

Either that or idiots could stop texting while walking and not run in to people!

Could goto Elance or Odesk for some cheap overseas labor to build an MVP. I honestly know some Russian guys who build iOS & Android apps, have used them in the past and they did a pretty good job.

I used 'honestly' to denote that I wasn't being my normal smart self on the QGLs.. but yes sir you are correct, the better word would have been genuinely.

As hog said, Eastern Europe (Poland, Russia, etc) is coming up trumps for excellent dev talent. They know their stuff far better than the outsourcers I've used in Indian & China and are able to communicate better. The other upcoming hot spot is apparently the US.
