EA Sports' annual ice hockey iteration launches this week on PS3 and X360, and a demo is now available for the upcoming FIFA 14 football instalment on PC, PS3 and X360, and the publisher has released a couple of new trailers to keep both in our thoughts.
In FIFA's clip we get to see a variety of the on field tomfoolery that players perform as victory celebrations, when just shouting gooooaal isn't cutting it, and NHL's launch trailer has a lot of the usual crash tackling and fisticuffs the series is know for. It is our understanding that both games do still include actual football and ice hockey simulations as well.
NHL 14 is due on September 12th 2013, for PS3 and Xbox 360, with FIFA 14 to follow on pretty much every platform ever (even PlayStation 2), on September 26th (and as a next-gen console launch title).
when I rocked in to EB games yesty (meh, it's either use a backup copy or pay the premium price for the hardcopy) and snapped up NHL14
it's a big upgrade in the graphics engine from NHL08 (the last one I played from at the bargain bin price) and the gameplay seems to have been focused on to be much more technical in the model and gameplay details
A++++ would recommend if you're much of a sports game fan. even if you aren't it's fun and a foosball-ish table would be a good weekend project to make with the NHL theme

I might get it. I haven't owned an ice hockey game since NHL hitz on PS2. I loved them. Hopefully it's still got the hard hits I love though.
