When publisher Devolver Digital and storefront GetGamesGo recently teased an upcoming release of The Chaos Engine, it stirred speculation of a reboot or a visual revamp of the classic Amiga-era steampunk shoot em up, but the reality looks to be a little less exciting, as a pixel perfect remake was demonstrated at the recent Rezzed indie games expo in London.
Eurogamer has an extensive roll of gameplay from the expo demo, accompanying an audio interview with one of the game's developers, and aside from a bit of visual smoothing, it's being touted for being a functionally authentic representation of the original Amiga experience.
The Chaos Engine is due on Steam for PC in August 2013, and can be pre-ordered for U$9.99 at getgamesgo.
