correct: http://statements.qld.gov.au/Statement/2013/4/23/all-the-way-with-segway
In an Australian first, the Newman Government will allow the use of Segways on footpaths and bikeways from later this year.

Transport and Main Roads Minister Scott Emerson said it made sense to allow the use of Segways given how popular they were around the rest of the world.
It's like we're living in the future, 10 years ago

9 out of 10 people would probably have wanted one from what i saw walking along the footpaths this afternoon.

one was wearing a sweater and had a beard, not knowing if it was quite fully winter weather yet or not judging by the perspiration.

i personally think its retarded that sikh's are excluded. they should have to pay a levy to cover all the extra hospital fees they will be incurring.

obviously there would be a market for a helmet that accomodates a turban.

I think that helmet law is kind of cool, obviously completely retarded at the same time pandering to religions but st the same time;

They can be used as a little test group for someone to study the accidents and effects of riding bikes without a helmet vs riding with a helmet

Well to be fair it would be comparing riding with a helmet vs riding with a sponge on your head

I think they have not only been against the law on sidewalks, but they have on roads as well. I looked into it a while back and my memory is the only thing you could do was fang around on them in parks i.e., they were useless for their intended purpose.

wonder if that had more to do with it than any real public want/need
