What does everyone else use for converting AVI to MP4. Preferably a free one with no watermark feature and no limit of file size to convert.
Taa. |
AVI is a container. What is the video codec used in your AVI?
MP4, is that to be a h.264? (what you normally find in MKV containers) Handbreak may be your easiest/best option. Great program. |
I am recording gameplay using DX Tory and want to upload footage to You Tube. 10mins of gameplay is a HUGE filesize, therefore I want to convert it MP4 to upload it.

If only the taxpayers of Australia would stop being such pussies and pony up with the cash so you can get on with that important task!! :)
Handbrake is what you want; it is probably the easiest and best thing. If they're AVIs and you want to edit them before uploading, you could also use VirtualDub (which offers some v. basic editing features) and then encode to Xvid - if you're trying to do HD content though you're probably better off with Handbrake. |
Freemake Video Converter
http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/ I've been using this to convert a few video files myself, works really well and has a clean interface. |
Freemake was on the ffmpeg Hall of Shame (Wikipedia source, the actual Hall of Shame is offline at the moment for some reason).
This generally means that they are violating the conditions of the ffmpeg license - doing something like selling the software or making it available without conforming to the license conditions, probably by not releasing source code or something like that. This might sound like no big deal but you should try to avoid using software that violates licenses because otherwise you're nothing more than a PIRATE! Handbrake will almost certainly do exactly what you want and is open source and thus ffmpeg license compliant. |
Does Hand Brake support two channels of audio? I have one audio channel being gameplay audio and another being audio from my mic. I can't seem to get both of them in the final converted video?
|
Dude I think you are perhaps confused with Video editing and format converting.
Just use Windows movie maker or something to do the dubbing and then handbrake to convert. |
Ahhh, that's where I was going wrong :)
Cheers |
yer, use windows movie maker and upload straight to youtube, so much easier.

Wouldn't mind converting a lot of my avi's to mp4's so I can normalise the sound with my3gain.

format factory - http://www.pcfreetime.com/
will convert formats - does anything to anything.. hell it even does mkv's to avi with 1 click everything else seams to need multiple programs and steps for that can de mux and splice in multiple audio tracks as well pretty fast does a regular 500mb mp4 to avi 40min show in about 6 mins I dont even bother with handbrake and virtualdub anymore |
What ^ said. Format factory kills the rest.

In that case I agree with you on going with Handbrake. |

Oh wait you play on Ceres? Why not play on BRIGGS Rdizz? |
Try the following page
http://www.appgeeker.com/how-to/convert-avi-to-mp4-mac.html The program converts files to a whole bunch of format options. It takes advantage of the container thing and so is very fast for converting. |
premiere pro
its as dumb as recommending fraps and Vegas to someone asking for a free program with no watermark. |
