So all of sudden my Nvidia Drivers keep crashing, I have the latest and have had it on my system for a few days its only this morning this started to happen, ive tried uninstalling them reinstalling them, install older ones, cleaned out the PC toook the video card out of my computer clean it and place back in, none of this has worked :(
Any suggestion my video card is less than 1 year old its GTX 670. However my PC is older Quadcore with Asus Rampage Motherboard, Could it be the motherboard?? |
try
1. uninstall 2. use driver cleaning program 3. reinstall 4. ??? 5. profit! |
fans on your video card still spinning?
Got a spare power supply you can test in your system?
I don't but did try unplugging other HDD
What's the best uninstall program? i used driver cleaner pro when i was having trouble with my drivers. |
Sure its not overheating? I've had a driver crash a few times when my card has gotten really hot
My ati card has recently started doing the same thing, nfi what it possibly is except for that I've added more ram lately. The only conclusion is that the machines are rising up against us.
Happened with my brand new 570's, took PC back, turns out one or both needed replacing. Just because it's new, doesn't mean it's not dead.
The nvidia graphics driver installer has an option to do a clean install.
I find that usually anything that 'cleans' a computer tends to break more things than it fixes... |
My ati card has recently started doing the same thing same here. i uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but it kept doing it. i did some research and apparently when you uninstall old drivers, it doesn't remove every file for some reason, so old files will conflict with the new ones causing it to crash. i used driver cleaner pro to remove everything and reinstalled latest drivers and i've had no crashes since. |
get an overclocking program, bump up the voltage.
or try a re-rack, fixes the computers on planes often |
Hello,
I often read these forums and have only now made an account as I had a similar problem with my card as explained below, Out of the blue, nvidia drivers keep crashing, It wouldnt matter what I was playing, would just do it at random, sometimes even just sitting at the desk top. I reinstalled drivers and did all that but to no avail. . I took apart my computer, cleaned the hell out of it, top to bottom, brushed and cleaned the video card, was all looking like new. Booted it up, ran ok for a few hours but then... boom. crashing again. I had no further ideas as to how to fix it. Current drivers, and a clean system... or so I thought. . To put it simply, I got the mega s**** with my system and though 'Well I cant f*** it up any more than it apparently is, lets go nuts'. I took out the video card first. Had a good look at it and shined a torch in the bits I could. I noticed a grill type thing inside that I didnt see before. 'Right I thought, theres more s*** in side surley'. Got a micro screw driver (I have a GTX 570 too by the way) and found a bunch of screws that I would imagine your not meant to open. Managed to quite easily take off the whole outer plastic covering exposing the grill I saw from before, situated near the main fan. . 'Well f*** me' I thought, 'theres your problem!' There was a layer of gatherd dust between the grill and the main fan that was, and I s*** you not, about 1mm thick. Kinda like the lint filter in a clothes dryer in consistancy. I removed it, gave the rest of it a clean and vaccume. Put it all back to together, and haven had a problem since. That was now about 5 months ago. Not a single driver crash. Sorry for the long winded reply, but I read your post and rememberd how much my problem like this drove me up the f*****g wall. So I hope this is your answer. Kind regards, Cable. Edit - Heres a link to a picture of the inside I mentioned, Also the inside of the plastic bit works like a wind tunnel over the heat sink, so it needs to go back on after. The start of the heatsink near the fan is where the layer of thick dust was, couldnt be seen from the outside, even with my torch. http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2010/12/nvidia-geforce-gtx-570-1-3gb-review/GTX570-5w.jpg |
So uninstalling it and installing older version failed, however decided to pay the $10 and get drivercleaner.net uninstall it, ran that and installed new drivers again and it failed. so uninstalled the drivers again ran drivercleaner and than installed older version. its been runing fine for 20mins or so :)

brushed and cleaned the video card This is why I take my PC out into the back yard and blast it out with the compressor. It gets all the dirt that you can't see too. Just have to remember to turn the pressure down a bit, otherwise those cans of air things might work. My 570 looks nothing like that btw, my issue was a DOA card. |
yeh i have compressor at work so i do that every couple of months plus my computer doesnt really get too dusty as the case has filters on it :)
My filters are full of cat hair. Better than it being in the computer I suppose.
Check if you've got a process called iehighutil.exe running
it was happening to me too. get the latest driver.
i had that issue, i went for the latest drivers and the problem got worse. so i went back to the drivers that i downloaded when i bought this card which were 280.26. nice and stable, can even alt-tab out of tf2 without it crashing...
If you have MSI afterburner, and a G15 keyboard, set it up so you can see the temp, usage stats while it's running. My 580 was doing the same, crashing etc, but only on Farcry 3. Watched the stats, boom, was over heating and going out on thermal.
Can't seem to keep the dust out of my rig so went crazy and water cooled that b*****... epic win now, it stays cold as a ice and never crashes on me... If overheating is the problem, 125 bucks and some tinkering and you'll never have that prob again. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=207_160_45&products_id=20721 |
My 580's in SLI don't overheat on stock settings? Not on any bench. 70c max on benchmarks and 60'ish C in game. I went from 470's in SLI and they were crashing all the freaking time cracking over 80. Was kind of nice to upgrade both performance and have less stability issues in one generation move.
yeah my video card is not overheating, also have aircon on, latest drivers is making crash so might leave these ones out. I do have G13 and G19 keybaord which i do check thow its going and its fine. It crashes in google and windows desktop when i booted straight away (it wasnt hot)
I'd be taking the card back, sounds like it's faulty. Either that or try another PSU if you have one to spare.
check the voltage on the PSU and its fine, the card is nearly a year old i think bought around april may
same. but with ati on a new 7950 + windows 8 install

Probably hitting the silicon heat barrier sooner or later, if Intel does not have a steady supply of carbon nanotubes, even if Intel does Haswell or anything at 10 nanometers its going to be for the mobile platform, then you look at what laptop accessories, they have these days. Laptop cooler underneath the entire base of the laptop. Might as well just modular parts.
You may want to check your bios is up to date as well. CCleaner is another option and should have a driver force uninstall option: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner What else is on my mind when it comes to hardware and thermal runaway... www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-12-13/intel-tells-data-center-customers-that-100-degrees-isn-t-too-hot.html But I think the more important articles that one would want to pay attention to: * http://www.zdnet.com/the-chip-industrys-looming-20-nanometer-cliff-7000008837/ - 20 nm Nanometer cliff. Which is an on-going problem. wtf has all of that got to do with a crashing driver / hardware issue?
wtf has all of that got to do with a crashing driver / hardware issue? Overheating, Overclocking, Nanometer limits of silicon and water cooling. Also where your future computer is coming from. Cause after all, if your graphics card gets f***ed, you need to buy a new one. Right? Just some food for thought. Of course you do know that a lot of the graphics cards are not only manufactured in China but Japan and Taipei as well. http://www.theage.com.au/digital-life/pcs/how-thai-floods-are-affecting-pc-prices-20111214-1otkf.html Don't worry Whoop, bro, you'll catch up eventually. Any suggestion my video card is less than 1 year old its GTX 670 goto a mate's place and see if you can replicate the fault in his PC too? else take it back to where you bought it dude.. warranties exist for a reason. btw - where did you buy it from? |
Don't worry Whoop, bro, you'll catch up eventually. That's why technology was invented by Engineers, for people like you. He said it's not overheating, no doubt he's not overclocking the s*** out of it, I also doubt he's got water cooling in mind since it's not overheating. Face it your post is irrelevant, you just wanted to make yourself look smart. |
