In just over a week, the Kickstarter project for Dreamfall Chapters has demonstrated that crowdfunded videogame development is still possible, passing its initial funding goal of US$850,000 and continuing at a comfortable pace toward several new stretch goals.
Red Thread Games has now committed to Linux and Mac versions at $900k, and a new Loremaster feature at $950K that will add a new Great Library city to the game as a repository for player's collectibles, as well as the character Abnaxus of the Venar at $1M, who's return to the franchise will accompany a length of new content.
The project looks to be on track to easily meeting all of these targets in the coming days, and the developers have promised to reveal stretch goals right up to US$2M, so stay tuned for more.
