Perhaps the biggest reveal out of the latest Nintendo Direct press conference broadcast was the announcement of a colourful new platformer for Wii U, starring everyone's favourite jolly green dinosaur, Yoshi.

No official title for the game was named, but we expect it will have something to do with textiles, as it's in the works at the same studio that most recently brought us Kirby's Epic Yarn, and similarly has a fabric and crafts aesthetic.

There's no trailers yet, but hit the images below for a closer look at stills of the few bits of footage shown during the conference.

Sure there's no proper trailer but there was video of it in action in the ND.. Why not link that video at least? Also this wasn't a major surprise due to the leak on launch day due to the miiverse bug/hack. I guess they're saving the metal gear solid ann for e3
