After a very vanilla start that didn't even originally include a pitch video, the content has started to pick up on the Kicktarter project page for Elite: Dangerous, with Frontier Developments and David Braben now even releasing some actual prototype gameplay for the masses in the latest update.
The five minute clip is presented developer diary style and features Braben discussing multiplayer and some of the elements of how the ships work.
Elite: Dangerous is pitched as a sequel to Braben's original 1980's procedurally-generated space sims, and the crowdfunding project has now passed the half way mark on the way to its £1,250,000 goal with 39 days remaining.

I can't wait to see how this and Star Citizen turn out... if they'll be similar or completely different. Either way I'm excited for both of them. May the best space-sim win!
I'm supporting both games. I think they will be quite different experiences. Star Citizen , at this early stage, looks to be aiming for an incredibly immersive experience whereas, with Elite, I would expect it to continue its tradition of truly massive dynamic scope. I have to admit being able to fly through space and enter the atmosphere of the planets and land is amazing but I'm curious to see how well these proceduraly generated lanscapes/cities will look on modern systems. I hope both games do well as they spawn from legendary roots.
