When Microsoft announced that Bungie would no longer be taking part in the Halo universe, a series that has truly defined the Xbox consoles, many were left worried that new developers 343 Industries might not be able to fit the shoe with the upcoming game Halo 4.

With a battle rifle in hand and a virtual Cortana by his side, our own Master Chief Nathan “NachosJustice” Lawrence set out to see just how well 343 Industries has done with the latest Halo title, and whether both the campaign and multiplayer have truly got what it takes for fans of the series.
At the end of the day, Halo 4 stands as a particularly polished piece of fan fiction that not only deserves to be released, it carves its own way in an established universe, carefully paying homage to the tropes of what has come before, while boldly establishing its own mythology and gameplay lore.

I can't believe it took a new development house and 4 games to realise that the flood were a terrible enemy that everyone hated.

I sold my xbox so I will just wait till this comes out on PC (LOL)

They ditched the Halo theme and the orchestral music? Thats lame, Halo always had some of the best in-game music. Guess all the music and sound guys went with Bungie.

The flood were definitely the worst thing about the first Halo game.

Well that and playing it on a console. I haven't bothered with any of the others.

Yeah, Halo has always had a jump, not quite sure what you're thinking of. Gears of War maybe?

Hmmm maybe no crouch then. I've only played a little bit of ODST and remember it missing some kind of basic fps function.

I haven't fired up the ol xbox in a while but definitely heading to KMart and picking this up on Tuesday. I'm actually quite surprised it's been getting pretty good reviews all round.

Well done to 343 for doing a good job!

Well, I'm only a few hours in, but so far, holy f*****g awesome. Also, the Prometheans are so much more awesome than the flood ever were as an enemy, and their tech and weapons and stuff are just completely badass.
