So I saw this vid this morning and I was like "lol dafuq they think I'm stupid?" but the more I look into it, the more it sounds like they're gonna have an actual concept vehicle at the car show.

Anyone else got any solid news on this?

Most of my mates at TAFE are calling BS but I dunno, seems atleast possible *shrug*

Volkswagen says the Hover Car works by way of electromagnetic roads

Fail.

They can't even keep the lines painted on the roads here, how are they gonna maintain electromagnetic roads?

Agree with this.

Can you imagine maintaing a massive electromagnetic field of the off chance that a car might use a bit of it?

And people get uppity when you erect wind turbines and say they cause cancer and all kinds of bulls*** - how are they going to feel living next to a big freakin magnet!

On the plus side, the Insane Clown Possy will have a field day.

How is being only to drive on electro magnetinc roads make the car anything different the the principal of a train.
Also having electromagnetic roads would produce masssive amounts of emf and that would f*** with power lines, transformers basically anything electrical.

I think you will find the road network to be a little bit more extensive!

also, nothing stopping a rail-bus style network,

electro mag roads for highways, or ring roads, the signal an offramp, and bam, normal ev for city streets

See, that's what I thought, but all the news outlets I've seen have been saying something along the lines of "they were bringing the concept cars to a car show in bejing" or something *shrug*

That's the part that's tweaking my nipples on this. So many red flags, yet they're talking about it like it exists and will be shown off soon.

The Hover Car is capable of traveling above ground

As opposed to.... a mole car that travels underground?
