Hey Mates
Just trying to get some feedback from the actual people that will be interested in a game coming out this year Car enthusiast gamers – who are you? Where are you? -Do you only play auto game only or do you play other genres? -Are you social online/offline? -Do you share purchase news with your mates? Just so you guys know this will be the biggest game release this year of the genre Your insights will be greatly appreciated. Hope to hear your opinions soon |
Normally you need sanctions by Trog to get approval for any posts relating to someone profiting/influencing a real profitable organisation even if it's related to the topic of the website.
Trog allows almost every post that's asked, but nukes almost every post that hasn't asked. I'm on the left side of my post. I'm not social in racing games, even the brief foray into iRacing i wasn't 'social' despite it being heavily online I'm social in most games, and am social in life - i'm out 1-2 times a week with friends, anything from karaoke to bar crawls and parties. I share purchase news with some of my mates depending on the mate. I talk about real car stuff with some guys, video game stuff with others, and neither of those with a third set of friends. There's not much info in that post though to say what you're doing with this information. |
automation is getting completed and released this year, great!!!!

Hi Skythra
Thanks for replying I've actually been in contact with Trog about this subject, but I did forget to tell him I was going to do this post, as it was a spur of the moment thing, i'll talk to him when I get in to work tomorrow. This information is actually going to be used for a campaign that will run on this site to to increase awareness for the game. And who better to tell me what I need to know then the people that will actually play this type of game Sorry I can't say the name of the game just yet as this might affect answers. I am a harcore gamer as well on several types of games and I'll post my thoughs on this later on too, after a few more replies. Thanks for your input on this and future posts |
Honest - if you want to appeal to this market, Fast cars and naked chick = WIN!

Sounds awesome. Can't wait to find out if your secret game has a name.
Your questions really made me think. Here are my answers: -Do you only play auto game only or do you play other genres? Other genres. -Are you social online/offline? Offline. -Do you share purchase news with your mates? Yes. Thanks! Hope that helps. |
1 Do you only play auto game only or do you play other genres? 1 Racing/rally + FPS 2 FPS = online, race/rally mostly offline (see point 3) 3 All my mates are noobs, none of them play any games at all so no, I don't share anything with them. Just so you guys know this will be the biggest game release this year of the genreWow, Forza 5 is out already? |
Has anyone tried this one: http://www.ausgamers.com/files/details/html/64752 (Victory, the Age of Racing) ?
|
Hey again
Just so you have a bit more info about me and what I'm doing. I'm a represenative of TAN, the advertising agency that AusGamers uses and just doing some research to ensure we get the most suitable campaigns in the future for you. Great answers so far, keep them coming |
I don't think he's hinting at an unannounced game guys, so stop trying to guess. It will just be one of the several big racing titles already due in the remainder of 2012, whichever might be considered the 'biggest in the genre'.
I think the point is to just get some honest market feedback without responses being influenced by any potential brand loyalty/disloyalty. As for me: -Do you only play auto game only or do you play other genres? all genres -Are you social online/offline? Not sure on the intention of this question, but both I suppose. -Do you share purchase news with your mates? Yes. |
Yes I like cars and games.
pew pew. Current game of choice. Forza 4 without a doubt. |
Not sure on the intention of this questionFacebook integration, or NFS autolog type stuff is my guess. |
Auto games need a more social feel.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 has it nearly right, but the game didn't have much depth. Give us a interface like TUD2 crossed with the almost unlimited game mechanics of FORZA and you have a great game. imo FORZA is the benchmark for motorsport games atm |
Facebook integration, or NFS autolog type stuff is my guess. OH HELL NO. The last thing I want is my Facebook minions having to block me because a stupid game auto posts crap to my wall every time I finish a race or something. I've got a couple of games with FB integration, I have never and will never enable it. Ever. I didn't mind the NFS Autolog because it could be restricted only to that game, and your friends who also had that particular game. Auto games need a more social feel. FORZA is pretty crap compared to F1 2010 (haven't played the latest one). The only place FORZA wins is a bigger range of cars. F1 had better physics and better AI. Can't comment on graphics because one was on my PC the other on an xbox. |

Can't comment on graphics because one was on my PC the other on an xbox. what. seriously. what Considering you can race in nearly ever genre using production cars compared to one class? as a motorsport game as a whole, not just one class, you cannot surpass FORZA. Its like saying DIRT 3 surpasses FORZA as a Rally game. of course it does FORZA doesnt have rally as a class. |
Whoop, F1 2010 had extremely s***** physics, almost like an arcade game. For instance, the car starts to spin and you have over half a second to tap the brake to instantly correct it.
|
Haha, you can correct oversteer with brakes?

I'm anticipating Project cars to do massive things for PC (the builds available atm look/feel/sound amazing)
To freely add to the OP's request: Q1) I play most Genre's; however as a part of 'Automotive' I try to avoid arcadey rubbish, and really get into casual/sim racing (TDU2 a good example of 'casual' and GT5/Forza 3 (didn't like 4 at all, tho I'll have another bash at it before long) and the Simbin range of games on PC) Q2) Socially gaming? yes. If there's 'community' based stuff in game I'm there, if there's the capacity to just 'cruise' I'd be all over that (the track stuff is kinda essential imo) Q3) I frequently do more than just discuss purchases. I'll often pick up a few copies of a game (if/when it's at the right price) for me and my mates (and family) to add to what we can play together. |
Bang for buck Forza 3 has a lot of good things going for it.
Visual's weren't amazing, and the sound was ok (both were more than ample to get the point across). The physics has it's flaws, but for a console game I actually wish it was available on PC. I really like the 'casual' aspect to TDU 2 and the whole 'go for a cruise' element is actually really easy to get into and fun to do with some mates (shooting the s*** chatting away, funny s*** happens when someone starts getting competitive and after pushing a little too hard, comes unstuck on a corner... many lol's to be had). If I could combine a few games, TDU 2 (literally with a massive geo-mapped island to go for a fang around when not racing) with GT5 and Forza's range of race tracks (I do actually like a lot of the (non-real world) tracks in both games) with something a little like 'Automation's vehicular tweakery. Would be awesome. |
