Just bought a Nissan Stagea recently and it has some kind of alarm + factory central locking (not sure if there is an immobiliser but doubt). A single key was given to me and the previous owner was never given more than that.
So QGL font of knowledge; please recommend me a decent auto electrician so I can get a remote central locking and old alarm removed (live on south side of Brisbane). |
I have the exact same problem and I took it to my auto elec and he told me to go to the manufactures website and look for local agents that work on that particualr brand. so first maybe you need to find the brand of the system you have. If you are just after a new system tho maybe try autobarn etc.

this guy is really good: http://www.audioexpress.com.au/site/
chris rogers, he is based on the northside though i think his shop is at Herston near the hospital he does a lot of work for people on skylinesaustralia.com, i had him do the alarm on my r32 if you're going to get the alarm/immobiliser removed for the love of jebus get it replaced rather than just removing it. i'm always lolling at the people on SAU getting their cars stolen because they are too stupid to get an alarm/immobiliser installed |
this guy is really good: http://www.audioexpress.com.au/site/ Thanks pave; excellent info as the Stagea is pretty much a Skyline. I will be at least be getting an immobiliser for sure as I know the benefit of them. Unsure as to whether I will get another alarm as most of the time they either annoy me, break, cause me to wake up at night/worry if I hear an alarm nearby (based on other cars fitted with aftermarket alarms). |

Will most likely be removing the old system and starting afresh me-thinks... |
talk to chris, i've been meaning to get the older alarm in my replaced with something newer
i think i was looking at like $500 for the middle level one, they can be adjusted regarding sensitivity too i have the alarm on mine turned off at the moment because everytime a truck comes around the corner at work it goes off which was pissing everyone here off lols |
i have a mate who's an auto elec full time and does cashies on the weekend. just finished a bmw cash job. he lives in bracken ridge (northside). if you're serious let me know and i'll send you his details

Sounds like reasonable pricing and yeah; I've had that happen to me before. Eventually just left the alarm off... I think it was a cheaper Mongoose or something brand |
