My son has that Tron s*** khel. It looks awesome but it's dodgy as f*** to actually use. Even the keyboard is mong with massive slippery buttons and huge gaps between them. Power on looks cool though :)

Yeah, that epic christoforo debacle was PR nightmare from the interweb. Apparently, he was using roids and had a violence domestic order against him previously...

I've just brushed the dust off my old, old powerwave wired xbox style controller which works in windows 8 and x360ce vibmod allows me to use it with skyrim, prefer keyboard and mouse but playing it on the tv with a conntroller on the couch is comfortable.

I'd love to try some of those Outlaw, but I'm over the moon with the http://www.xim3.com I bought for xbox 360 a year ago, haven't checked back in how it's fairing for playstation users, but I have seen threads were people have used them.

Pretty sure the Eagle eye is just like xim, though I'm not sure how it compares to xim.

skip the first few minutes and skip to the end if you want to see how it is configured.

My god. the guy in Outlaw's vid post MUST be related to the 'pure pwnage' guys...

'herp derp, I'm pwning console nubs with my keyboard and mouse'

I also managed to pick up a 'Frag FX' from GAME, they were quit-stocking them at the time. I know why they were quit stocking them... they're rubbish.

Looking at that vid also sorta shows me that it might be a problem with the way PS3 games are 'expecting' input.
In the 'round ending killshot' in that vid; you can see that despite it being a mouse/kb that the mouse doesn't pan smoothly, it's still a little bit 'chunky' in the same sense that you can't typically be as 'direct' in games with a gamepad.

I haven't really tested it with anything other than Killzone 2 (I don't really play any other FPS on console :/)

The Killzone franchises controls have always had a really 'heavy/undersensitive' feel to them. You start by slightly leaning on the 'analogue' stick to turn, and the moment you move it out of the controllers dead zone, you're turning a lot faster than you wanted to.

It feels much the same with the frag FX. I'm not sure how the controller input is received by the console, but with Killzone as the example; when you move the mouse slowly the game essentially treats this exactly the same as 'mildly' moving the stick, which is to say, it does nothing.

There are other problems with it in my case too. My console is in the lounge room and I don't have a coffee table or anything between the chairs and TV unit, so I'll grab a small box or something and chuck it on my lap... for most 'conventional' console setups, it's just not practical (IMO anyway).

I'd be keen to check out UT3 with it's keyboard/mouse support to see if that feels as direct as it does on PC.

Yeah, Killzone doesn't translate well to mouse controls. I've tried a FragFX with both Killzone 2 and 3. 3 is a lot better, but it still feels really laggy.

The next FPS I'll play on PS3 will be Dust 514, but that is going to have native keyboard and mouse support anyway.

.

Battlefield3 on console is like this, f*****g annoying. I still think fragfx>controller even with the 'stair casing' issue. Apparently the fragfx shark works 100% fine with mw3.

...will be Dust 514

I've never played (and probably won't ever play) EVE Online. The game holds its interest with me. I think the economical elements are great, and I like the 'player driven plot' (so-to speak, the manner in which the different player run 'corporations' rule the different sectors etc) but the part where everyone playing it is also running MS Excel, and the biggest killer for me is the 'gameplay'... it's like a really elaborate screen saver. (well that and the 'character progression' isn't about what you're doing, or how you do it, just how long you've been a subscriber...)

I concede that you can't really have a twitch game as an MMO, but yea... this is where the concept for Dust 514 comes in I think.

If it really is 'Free 2 play' (as opposed to the rest of them which should almost be called 'Free 2 pay to play' then I might jump in and hit it up.

(Seriously, I know that for the most part you'll never really see the FPS 'going on' from within MMO; but it's been a long standing wish of mine to see a 'GTA meets Star Wars' kinda game where you can go from on foot, to a vehicle on a planet/station, to a ship and then into a air/space craft to somewhere else. If this concept actually stands within EVE, I think it really looks to set EVE up to outlast the 'other' MMO in WOW. (not saying it's better than, or more popular than, just likely to breathe a few years more life into it.)
