Following up our report yesterday on that other Kickstarter project that looked like it wasn't going to make it, with only five days remaining, the Serellan team have now circled their wagons with a refreshed approach to raise the remaining funds for their hopeful Hardcore Tactical Shooter -- project TAKEDOWN.
The Takedown kickstarter page now includes a wealth of new information about the developer's philosophy and the game's intended features and they have gone further to put together a new and much more professional pitch video.
This game, the spiritual successor to games like the original Rainbow Six and SWAT series, will focus on realistic weapons modeling, squad based play, in a close-quarters battle setting. To succeed in this game you need to take things slow, study your plans, and execute flawlessly. If you get shot, there are consequences. You won’t be hiding behind a wall waiting for your health to regenerate. If a team member goes down, you will have to assess the situation and reallocate team members if necessary to complete the mission. Don't expect all of the tools and plans to be forced fed to you - it is up to the player to ensure their team is equipped and ready for the tasks at hand.
Given that they're still less than halfway to their target with only five days left until everyone's pledges are refunded, it's not looking too promising, but we've got to give them points for trying. Crowdsourced funding has the potential to bear some sweet and unusual indie gaming fruit, but when the goal is this lofty, a good idea alone might not be enough.
Check out the new video below and head over to Kickstarter to get a better idea on what they're all about.

Used to love playing rainbow six, planning the mission some times took longer than executing it. So cool.
