While other publishers have made a shift away from movie-licenses in recent years, SEGA looks to have stepped up to the task with videogame compliments to two of Marvel's big upcoming films with Thor: God of Thunder and Captain America: Super Soldier.
Today we have a new gameplay trailer from each and while at face-value they appear to be generic action-game shovelware, there's at least some indication and precedent that they could possibly turn out ok.
Most would be quick to pan both as quick cash-ins, but there's a little room for optimism as the recent Batman: Arkham Assylum has shown that it's still possible to craft a solid game from well-worm comic book characters. That veteren writers are penning the story for both games and screen actors Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston will be reprising the roles of their movie characters in Thor also add a little more hope on these two.
Both games are pegged for a Winter 2011 (U.S. Summer) launch alongside the upcoming movies with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS as the target platforms.
What does everyone think? Glimmer of hope, or no-chance shovelware?
The Thor one made me think of Darksiders. same kinda game really. Will likely be a good one for the littlies. The cap.america one? Eh. Very eh. Some interesting bits and pieces, I dunno. I look at it and think console.

Shovelware. Thor looks especially uninspired.
