Just a friendly reminder to all visitors of AusGamers that we know how to tweet up your day with posts from our very own Twitter account, all you need to do is follow us on Twitter.
You can also
find us on Facebook and we've integrated a lot of Facebook 'Like' buttons across the site, so if you happen to read or see something you like, it would be awesome for you to just click that little thumb, because every bit helps and we're a Mom and Pop gaming site at heart, but want to grow to evil, dark proportions like so many Azeroth-destroying Deathwings (or similar).
Click here to find us on Twitter.

so I drink the blood of a kitten to make up for it. Don't worry, the kittens are unharmed.

Links to interesting to forum threads, new videos added to the site, game updates/downloads or other articles around the web which the editors have come across in their travels I feel are a better use of Twitter.

Because my mates don't know how to setup RSS feeds. If anything, it's RSS that is dead rather than the other way around.
What do I win?

Because ausgamers managed to whack two birds with one stone?
Also, pfft Pinky. RSS is dead! Long live RSS!

You'll be first up against the wall when the revolution comes you dirty, dirty console sympathiser.

I completely agree. Given I can't see any RTs from game devs in the @ausgamers feed - just links back to the news posts on AusGamers.com...isn't that entirely the same point I'm making?

No, just that the AGN twit feed seems to be redundant if you use the RSS.
C/D?

Atm we don't really have the resources to devote to making a bunch of Twitter posts about other things. Anything we think is interesting, is posted on the news page (where it is distributed down to RSS and Twitter and sometimes Facebook).
I realise the point of Twitter is to do forfty billion more posts of less interesting things that might not classify as "news" but we simply don't have the time to do that at the moment.
I would rather (personally) create an 'ausgamers blog' where we post non-news stuff that we think is still interesting (development stuff, challenges, insights, etc). I think a brief post about stuff we do (like the recent work we've done in getting HD videos going or our recent upgrade to PHP 5.3) is a billion times more interesting than a 140 character thing where we link to the latest cat doing something funny

and the "PLEASE FOLLOW US, PLEASE, PLEEEEAASE" news post. I don't care either way - but I'd argue why bother with a twitter account at all if you don't have time for it?

I enjoy the ausgamers twitter, im often not watching my rss all day, but i check twitter a few times a day and it's good to see when new content is added to the site.
Thanks for making the effort to post this stuff to twitter.
