Not to be a d*** or anything but if you changed the title to something generic like "Friday Gaming (03/12/10): Video/Media Showcase", people would visit ausgamers from google search. Unless you're trying to attract people that search for Media and Matinees...

Or you could just post that into every thread, seeing as the content is indexed as well as the title :p

But I think these threads are more for our benefit (existing forum users) than for people searching.

I'd imagine most people would be searching for specific things ie "yakuza trailer" anyway, who would search for "video compilation thread!" or whatever?

They really don't. As icewyrm pointed out. These posts are for the benefit of people that already visit the site/forums. More so for the benefit of those that read the front page.

Yes, they are auto-created as forum threads, but the intention isn't to spark a discussion (though there's nothing wrong with that happening), but mostly just to point out the latest videos to existing users.

IMO there would be little benefit into optimising them for search engines as all that kind of stuff is already built into the video pages themselves .

Thanks for the feedback though, positive or negative, we always like to hear what people have to say.

I didn't mean offense by it, it was just a suggestion. A suggestion which gained me a 300 sec post limit. WTF :(

I typed in a few key words from this thread and Friday Media Matinee was the least enticing title so I figured I'd mention it...
