It's been a long time since we've heard anything official about L.A. Noire, the 1940's Los Angeles period title that's been quietly continuing at the Sydney-based Team Bondi studio.

Rockstar Games have today release what they're referring to as the "first trailer" for the game, seemingly trying to hope people forget about the other video they released way back in October 2006 and teased even earlier than that.

In their defence though, the game does appear to have come a very long way since that early incarnation, and you can check out the new "first trailer" -- which claims to be 100% in-game footage -- right here on AusGamers.

No other new information has yet been made available about the game, only that it is now due in Autumn 2011 (U.S. Spring) for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

So looking forward to this..

As I get older I seem to prefer those more niche appeal games... This is one of 'em

So it's like Mafia 2 except we play as the police?

Yeah, that's the first impression I got - incredible facial expressions and animations. I hope it's follows through to in-game and not just cutscene cinematics. I guess in a story based game this kind of attention to detail would really pay off.

I dunno about this, I'll remain skeptical till I can try it out, since its one of those games that been in development hell for yeeeeeeears now. I also have a couple of friends who've worked at Team Bondi, who have nothing good to say about the place and not much good to say about the game, so maybe that makes me a little biased.

All I ever hear from game DEVs is how much their job/studio/project/industry sucks. Is it that bad? Surely there has to be some people which LOVE working for their studio. I wonder what the morale at blizzard would be like? Why not more indie DEVs? A little bit more risk but damn.. you get a good idea you could be the next zynga

I watched my first ever starterk season. Startrek the next generation season 1. They had several holodeck episodes about 1940's detectives. If it wasn't for those glamorising the detective thing, then I probably wouldn't care about this at all.. but i'm just a little curious now

Well, I've only been there for a week, but I've had a pretty pleasant experience so far. Both the Team Bondi and Rockstar people are incredibly friendly and helpful, and I've really liked what I've played of the game.
