In their latest acquisition, publisher Bethesda Softwork's parent company Zenimax Media, have now
snapped up Tango Gameworks, a new Japanese studio founded by acclaimed developed Shinji Mikami.
Mikami-san is probably best known as the creator of Resident Evil and has had a hand in many other successful franchises during his time at Capcom. More recently he's been involved in Platinum game's recently released Vanquish and collaborating with Grasshopper Manufacture on the recently revealed Shadows of the Damned.
“It’s refreshing to find a publisher who understands, trusts, and supports the development of blockbuster games and works to make it a collaborative effort,” said Mikami. “The library of AAA franchise titles ZeniMax owns speaks for itself. We are very excited to be joining ZeniMax and working with a company that is dedicated to creating the best games ever made.”
No indication has been given yet as to what Tango Gameworks will be creating, but it will certainly be interesting to see what a Japanese studio comes up with under the Bethesda umbrella, which now also houses the likes of id Software, Arkane Studios and Bethesda's own development teams.
