We knew THQ were starting to get more aggressive in the core market with a greater emphasis on creative and quality control and strong acquisitions of new studios and talent, and today they further this incentive with news they've poached Assassin's Creed creator and Ubisoft Montreal original, Petrice Desilets to work at a new "super studio".
"The best way we can deliver fresh, high-quality gaming experiences is by working with the best talent," said Danny Bilson, vice president of core games in a press release. "And THQ is delighted to have the opportunity to make a brilliant addition to our team next year with Patrice Desilets. We expect calendar 2011 to be a watershed year for THQ, and adding developers like Patrice helps ensure our focus on new IP and great games is charted by leading industry artists."
the new studio will be based in Montreal and will focus solely on creating new IP for THQ. Watch out Activision, EA and Ubi - THQ are hungry.
