Anyone who's been wanting to push their maxed
Borderlands characters that little bit more will be happy to know Gearbox are raising the cap to 69 (no jokes, please), and will be offering that to all players for free as part of a full game update (which will also address balance issues as a result of the changed cap).
There's also a new round of DLC coming called
Captrap's Robot Revolution (September 28), continuing Gearbox's impressive support of the FPS/RPG hybrid post-release. A Game of the Year edition is also coming later in the year and will feature all the game's DLC released to-date.

Short? The initial game is over 12 hours long, my character has over 48 hours pumped into it and he hasn't hit the level cap.
Gearbox have done a fantastic job supporting this game, more developers should look at the way these guys do DLC. Not this, here is a new character model and 3 guns s***.

1 - Gamespy/slightly crappy netcode
2 - Even slight level variations (less than 5 levels difference) make the enemies far too difficult for the weaker player to kill. You really need to either be at exactly the same level/point in the game, or preferably start with mates and only play with them. Otherwise everything gets out of whack and playing together is too hard. If the weaker player hosts then it isn't so bad, although the higher player will stomp everything and be kinda bored.
Having said that, had a lot's of fun playing this over lan and (more recently) over VPN (tried over gamespy, was way laggier...).

Most of my gear is still around level 35-40 stuff. I got from Moxxis underdome is a 58 level grenade, whoopedydoo. Still yet to try the 20 round challenge as the 5 round ones were painful enough. However I might need to edit my save game and up my back pack to 42 (currently 36). Stupid how I complete the claptrap missions I didn't do in playthrough 1 and it doesn't give you the reward in playthrough 2.
It's depressing to see level 50+ shields that are like only 1100 when I have a 45 one that is 1800.
Still got Secret Armory of General Knoxx to go through as well... considering the title I have some high hopes.
First off I wondered why, seemed an odd number. But I just finished Mad Moxxi's underdome and you get a bonus skill point. Not that it really helps.

If you were on the 360 I could drop you some decent stuff. have good stuff all the way up to level 61.
But I agree with the drops sometimes suck major arse. I was getting fairly ok drops from Crawmerex but then I started playing the normal game again with a lower character and was getting stuff nearly the same stuff.
Id have preferred something where you could guarantee a level 50 drop was much better then a level 25 drop but having eleven billionty random guns meant sometimes high level guns suck.
I went the soldier for my first play through and stayed away from combat rifles and shotguns as I could never find a good one. Now I have started another soldier and I'm finding them left right and centre.
And the Armoury? You will love the armoury. Best add-on yet. One word of advice though (not a spoiler) Lance troops come in different flavours. Pyro troops are immune to fire. Corrosive troops are immune to acid and shock troops are immune to lightning. So take guns with you that can do different elemental effects.

I'm running around with two shotguns atm having a field day, one is like 280x12 (no accuracy) and another is 270x8 with 80% accuracy + zoom.
Have some other nice combat rifles which are like 380 damage 3 round burst and another that's 350 with a 60 round clip, with the perks it becomes my spam gun of like 200 bullets. Wish you could custom label your guns... "I'm going to have me some fun".
There is another s***** gun I keep - +20ammo regen so I can quickly transfer to it to regen ammo and keep damage mod on.
I gave up on the underdome, 20 level rounds are insanely long. 1.5 hrs in and I was only on round 10. Would love to try it with 3 others just to see what type of guns spawn.
Another thing I noticed is they must of changed some things around with some of the DLC's. I had skilled it so that my turret could be out basically all the time with the shooting people shorting the respawn time, however that is no longer the case.

The only thing I kept was a shotgun which was 198x7, 65% acc, 1.4 fire rate and a clip of 6 (expands to 11 with usual ammo regen mod). If only I could swap the clip over to my 278x7, 80%, 1.5 shotgun that has a clip of 2 (expands to 3).

So I can just run back there and reopen chests? Seriously wish I didn't have to keep my s*** on char (cbf going to Underdome just to store it there and have to tp back just to get it).
But level cap is 61 so far?

That being the case he's already finding the best ones around at the moment (bad randoms aside), oh well. Still, being able to repeat it increases the chance of finding something decent a fair bit, haha.
Though it's only repeatable because of a map glitch they never fixed... and you need to have one of the armory missions uncompleted to run it.

When Crawmerex dies and you pick up his guns some of them worth the max $9,999,999 and you sell half a dozen of them and you have all your money back.
Did stuff up the other day. Tried to give some guns to a mate and accidently lost most of the good ones >.<
- really high damage fast hellfire.
- assault rifle that was like 400 damage, 2.4 zone, 95 accuracy 12 speed and 80 bullets. (Could get over 200 clip with my heavy gunner mod)
- fast high damage orion (best lightning gun in the game IMO)
- and others
*shrugs* Oh well I can get most of that back easily I guess.

Do you get anything special from it?
Yeah I've boosted it up heaps with the second armoury and a crawmerax run. But it's pretty much pointless. What do you really have to spend it on? I could buy random s*** to get an achievement, but I cbf wasting it for nothing.
The other thing that's s***ting me of is that I have a bugged mission, "Lost Lewts". I investigated an area and opened up the loot container before getting the mission, now I go up to it, it has the special Lancer radar but I can't pick it up at all. I just want to get rid of this stupid mission.
My loadout atm is
Hunters shotgun. 281x7, 71.7 acc, 1.4 fire rate, 2 bullets. 4x zoom
Vitirolic Crux shotgun, 152x7, 77.1 acc, 1.9 fr, 5 bullets - 4x corrosive, 3x zoom
War Stomper CR, 376, 87 acc, 15fr, 12 clip, 1.4x zoom.
Some glorius machine gun, 218, 87.2, 7.6 fr, 4x fire
Some Tough guy shield - 1672 / 322 with the bonus 30% to hp.
Have another one that is 1985 / 245.
I had a nice shield that was ~2200/200ish, I swear I had it equiped during my armory run but it has disappeared.

Acouple of extra skill points.And the gun drops after each boss fight. Thats about it.
The lost lewts mission is fun. The diamond keeps pointing to were you get the mission though so that may be your problem. Have you tried getting a lancer and driving around or are you just going back to that cave to get the diamond?

It's just a problem with stash #1. It has another radar which I can't pick up and nothing else.
I just used willowtree to say I haven't picked up the mission yet, will see how it goes.
