The good folks at One To Another (who look after the good folks at Bethesda here in Australia), have reminded us it's almost time for id's annual QuakeCon, which will take place in Dallas, Texas, on Thursday, August 12 and conclude on Sunday the 15th. Registration will be on-site for competitors, and entry is free for browsers.
QuakeCon 2009 was a record-breaking gathering for gamers with over 7,000 guests. With attendance expected to increase sharply this year, QuakeCon will once again host North America's largest BYOC LAN party, with thousands of gamers hooking their systems up to play on a world-class network.

Of course, it wouldn't be QuakeCon without the drama and intensity of the big-money pro tournaments, featuring id Software's free-to-play, web-based multiplayer game QUAKE LIVE.
Of course, having been acquired by Bethesda, you can also expect that this year's QuakeCon will also be gate-crashed by them with the likes of Brink, Fallout: New Vegas and Hunted: The Demon's Forge.

You can learn more about the event right here, and we're also being told you can find info for accommodation here.
