With more than five million copies sold worldwide, Battlefield Bad Company 2 is proving a serious mainstay in the series, which has prompted the dudes at DICE to throw in an all-new gameplay mode called Onslaught.
Onslaught is bringing co-op gameplay to Battlefield for the first time on console. The new game mode puts you and up to three friends against the enemy on Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes and Nelson Bay – redesigned with new lighting, time of day, added vehicles and other effects. Each map has a dedicated gameplay focus, requiring different levels of teamwork in order to complete the objectives against an onslaught of enemy AI.
So obviously the bad news so far is this has not been announced to be coming to PC, but it's a no-brainer it eventually will. You can check out more from the official blog, and stay tuned for an official trailer right here on AusGamers.

just started playing this last night, when i finally started learning the maps i was having a hoot and getting some decent scores, though after playing quite abit of M.A.G on ps3 im kind of let down by the number of players, (in saying that the game is balanced enough for the players limit it has)

The question of "What about PC?" is coming up in the comments quite a lot already so this is what the situation is.

No, we haven't signed away rights to console on this.
The problem we have on PC is that all our servers are dedicated with providers. Changing a server from Conquest 32 players to Onslaught 4 players cuts out 28 player slots from the total ammount available. This could have a dramatic affect on the PC online environment if enough servers changed to Onslaught.

We aren't ruling out Onslaught on PC but at this time we are researching how to bring it to PC without affecting players who don't have Onslaught or their own server to run it on.

Surely the servers will just balance as usual, the same way servers change correctly when a new map or game mode comes out for other games *boggle*.

They have dedicated servers iJebus :S But I agree on LAN multiplayer, would be much more awesome if they had that.

They have dedicated servers, but won't release them. Only they control how many servers they have.

If they released the server software they would never have any issues with server numbers.

Well, I can't see it happening on GameArena their servers are the worst I've experienced. Unless they have like four player and five AI.

in terms of gameplay, and longevity, it's the best i have ever experienced. the single player is damn entertaining too for when the main server is down :p

I haven't played on a GA server for a few days, but they have been incredibly laggy sometimes. For everyone on it.

I haven't played the game since that major patch, but from I played previously, Hypernia were the best bet with server latency etc.

Obviously these servers for the other providers would just have the server software updated to load balance just like the EA servers will have done for consoles, i think this has to do with EA just being lazy and cbf updating the PCs server side software.

Anyway stop rewarding us with this lame crap give us a map pack that has a "new" f***** map u lazy mofos!
