Bungie and Microsoft Games Studios have released another gameplay trailer for the upcoming Halo Reach, this time promoting the promised multiplayer beta.
Invitations to the beta will extend to owners to Halo 3: ODST and will be accessible through the game itself.
The gameplay footage in today's trailer was captured from an alpha build of the game of features a variety of multiplayer game modes.
Watch it right here on AusGamers.
The beta is set to kick off on May 4th 2010, preparing for a retail release "in the second half of 2010", exclusively on Xbox 360.

More games need jetpacks and vehicles... and disc launchers.

They are reaching for money. Sad thing is they will get it, and it'll be called console GOTY.

Doesn't look as bad as I was expecting though. I deny the fact that ODST exists and Reach is looking like a no-too-unreasonable evolutionary step up from Halo 3. It does look fun. If it all comes together.
Beta available through ODST - last ditch grab for ODST sales? lol

im guessing you dont like halo because you no good at it???
its probably the most competitive fps game ever made. halo 3)
sad thing is all you scrubs on ausgamers have no idea that console has overtaken pc gaming in some aspects. not graphically but competitivley definately.
this will win goty on all platforms and destroy bioshock 2 modernwarfare 2 and anything in its path. as halo 3 did.
excuse the spelling.

halo reach will destroy everything

why are we delusional? can you eloborate?
also, explain why you think it will destroy everything. it is xbox only..

I never liked halo even single player. I feel it's helped water down FPS's to the point where they baby the f*** out of you and hold your hand the entire way. I can understand why it was so popular on consoles... because every other FPS at the time (except goleneye) sucked goat d***. Where as halo just sucked regular d***
Lol. Keep telling yourself that.
Oh we are well aware... because nearly every game out these days is made for consoles first, then ported over to the PC. We have to deal with s***** controls, short games and all sorts of other crap.
I'm sure it will win the 360 GOTY. It's sad too. MW2 sucks ass too

Halo 1 was good, simple, fun gameplay and a familiar developer... Halo 2 pushed it as far as it could go. Halo 3 acted like it was going to be revolutionary, but they just dumbed down game play further and added a few gimmicky, stupid pieces of s***. Reach looks like they are putting a bit of effort in. I'm interested to see how it comes out.
I think Halo is so popular because Microsoft needed a flagship, and they could afford to create one.

My biggest gripe with halo was that it offers nothing new to fps gaming and its a tottaly bore fest, the small things that do set it apart (only being able to carry 2 weapons.. and it's regen health system) come across as more of a negitive given the universe the games are set in...
It was originally being developed as an RTS for the applie mac, then Microsoft got it's hands in the pie and pushed it towards the xbox...
Suddenly all the 14yr old boys with a lack of gaming history thought the game was the beez kneez... I have nfi why...
All the environment's look the same, the amount of time's i've gotten lost cause one room looks like the next.. or behind looks the same as forward..
The weapons seem like they were ripped right out of other classic fps games such as quake, unreal and tribes and even classic duke nukem.
Had it stuck to the mac it would of never of gotten the fan base, and it would of gone past the masses as the lame game that it truly is.
I have no f*****g idea why my 6 year old loves it, thinks it's the most awesome video game ever created... I try and push the little turd monster towards tf2.. hell even counter strike doesn't tickle his fancy... quake held his interest for 5 minutes... but then straight back to halo... Luckily i refuse to have the game in the house so his only chance to play it is at his grandmas house with his uncle. (note his uncle is 14, has long red hair and does nothing but play xbox all day)
For the record i have played halo 1-3 on the pure basis of trying to work out what was so great...

Ahahahaha good on you! I just got a mental image of a kid trying to hide it in his room like you would with smokes or weed when your not allowed to have it. "That better not be halo I hear in that room!"

I get worse then that.. he gets his ben10 toys and makes little blue tac halo weaposn for them.. then puts blu tac on the toys to make them look like halo characters then plays halo with his toys... then when i go in to read him a story at night... he goes on and on about how he made an energy sword for snake eyes from gi joe so he could do a cross universe thing... and i have to act interested... cause thats probably what a good parent does.. then i leave his room cursing homosexuals and halo just loud enough for him to hear but so i can be defensive about it with my fiance incase she gets s***** about it.

Definitely not game of the year, the graphics hardly look updated, just a few new flashy features but then again halo 3 to me looked like a pile of crap, I was shocked how bad it was when I first booted up the game.
Also alesko, as much as you are being an obvious troll I must point out that the majority of competitive gaming is still on PC mainly because of games like starcraft.
Every time I see some like "professional halo 3 tournament" I just lol at how much of a nub game that is, bullets hardly do anything so you just run up to people and either stick nades to them or play whack a mole which of course is guided by the auto aim so hardly needs much player input anyway.

The Halo series isn't that bad at all. Sure it's basic as far as FPS goes, but it's a solid experience, albeit a little repetitive.
I won't deny however it is over hyped to death, and that never helps a cause.

"Reach" as in "Reach Around".

I don't get why more PS3 games don't have keyboard and mouse support. Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3 did it, but as far as I know, no other games have.

Its called Halo: Reach cos its about the planet Reach, which is where the Spartan project started and where the Spartans were trained, and then its the scene of a massive battle when the Covenant find it. Although I guess its kinda like watching Titanic, you already know from the start of the movie that everyone is f***ed and the ship is doomed to sink. In Halo lore, Reach gets completely f***ed up by the Covenant and they annihilate the place, thats why theres all that "Remember Reach" grafitti and stuff on the walls in ODST.
