It's a very unusual video for anyone who has followed the Metroid series (specifically, Metroid Prime), but Tecmo's new imagining of Nintendo's hallmark franchise is interesting, to say the least.
Today's video is a cinematic, and delves into Samus Aran's past, with her fully voiced and presented in non-suited up form. Still, it's nice to see Nintendo taking the risk and fleshing out the lore, which has a lot of promise given the series pedigree. Who knows, maybe they'll start looking at avenues like this for other beloved franchises. *cough* Zelda *cough*
Check out the video below.

IMO the only way zelda can be good again is if they stop going all over the f*****g place in their timeline and follow the simple, original layed out path of
zelda 1 -> zelda 2 - > new zelda fully voiced continuing on from #2's storyline of ganon trying to be revived and you trying to stop it. Every zelda since #2 has been either a prequal or a offshoot in the timeline. Enough of this bulls*** on the DS. Spirit Tracks? Really? after he saved the world for the 909th time he goes and becomes a f*****g TRAIN DRIVER?! I also don't like the idea of link being different in each game. There just happens to be a huge history of little kids who all look the same, all are named link and all defeat ganon? pffft cmon. I want a Zelda 3 ffs.

I think you mean 2009.
And yeah, I've seen that, I meant new gameplay footage.

If you want a more classic Metroid experience in a contemporary graphics engine (that doesn't look wii-dated) you can't go past Shadow Complex.

Sc00bs - isn't that what Wii games are meant to look like?
Tecmo/Team Ninja.... WTF NINTENDO?!
I haven't played a Metroid since Prime. Which was ok, but it wasn't quite metroid. Also I don't know which way to hold a gamecube controller... lol
I can still throw hours at Super Metroid. I played it for the first time since... (Some time, long ago) a few weeks back. Totally got stuck on the "noob bridge". If you guys want Super Metroid style - go straight to the source.

Not sure if Zelda has ever been a game where I needed continuity of story to enjoy it. The story to me has always been secondary/irrelevant.
