Splash Damage have released another new trailer for their upcoming multiplayer shooter Brink, this time detailing the game's character customization system - narrated by Game Director and CEO Paul Wedgewood.
Much like Splash Damage's awesome
Christmas cards, Brink allows players to mix and match clothing, equipment and colours to create their own look - a feature common in RPGs but not usually offered in shooters.

Brink is due for a Spring 2010 (U.S. Fall Sep/Nov/Dec) release on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Though I fail to see the point since if your game sucks then it's not going to get any better because of the green hair and el salvadorian tattoos.
Case in point: Implementing a hat system in TF2. Did we REALLY need it? Surely the time could have been spent making more killer payload maps.

Case in point, Biker/Slammer model/skin from Quake III Arena (i.e. my avatar :))

I think you're over-estimate the time it takes to model a hat.
