While most of the world is back in action after the holiday season, but despite a bunch of big first quarter 2010 releases, things were still pretty slow in gaming over the holiday break.

A couple of new tidbits did still make their way online however and here's a few of them:
  • Mass Effect 2: EA and Bioware's much-anticipated Sci-fi RPG scored a few new promo trailers. The first pair offer a closer look at two characters from Shepards rag-tag band of space-crusaders - Grunt and Thane. Then there's also a 3 minute extended version of the cinematic "Dirty Dozen" trailer - check that one out right here

Mass Effect 2 hits PC and Xbox 360 (simultaneously this time - but still no PS3) on January 28th 2010.

  • Borderlands: 2k Games released yet another trailer for the latest downloadable content addition to their FPS/RPG - Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot. The expanded content is now available for Xbox 360 (800 MS Points) with the PlayStation 3 version (AU$12.95) due later this week January 7th and PC one again lagging behind yet to be dated.

The launch trailer shows off some of the new gameplay additions and abilities.

  • Dragon Age: Origins: More DLC ahoy for Bioware's other epic singleplayer RPG as Return to Ostagar launches on PC and Xbox 360 tomorrow (400 MS Points) and PS3 to follow later this month. Update: Bioware reports that the pack has been "delayed on all platforms" awaiting further notice.

Those who've played the game will recognise that this content is, as the name suggests, a return to the battlefield from early in the game and this trailer hints at a few things you can expect to find there.

I played Borderlands on a mates 360 and it seems real gumby, I didn't like the Character movement including aiming. It felt very slow to me like you had to coach it. Weapons seemed massively under powered but I guess this is due to it being a RPG. But shooting a dog with a shoty or rifle for that matter should'nt take more than 1 or 2 shoots.
