Following Tuesday's reveal Splash Damage have continued to release in-game footage from their upcoming multi-platform shooter Brink over and G4TV and they now have some actual combat clips on show.
Part 1 introduces us to Container City, the shanty town area of the floating Ark and part 2 continues with a closer look at the Engineer player class. Check out the embeds from G4TV below.
To clarify a couple of things, Splash Damage have confirmed that the footage is all taken from the same build that was shown off at the the various gaming expos this year (E3/GamesCom/PAX/QuakeCon etc) and that issues such as the weapon bob and ugly shadows have since been addressed.
The gameplay also shows Xbox button prompts, but in the case of the E3 presentation it was still running on PC hardware - just demonstrated using an Xbox controller rather than keyboard/mouse.
Is anybody else totally over iron sights?
I find lately I'd rather a crosshair as I have not seen a game yet that makes iron sights models look good.
That, and only thing I've liked iron sights in for is more simulator type FPS's, such as say DOD/COD/BIA etc.
Not only that and maybe it was just the chump playing in the vid, but Iron Sights + No leaning or step-out from a corner or window = really, really bad.

There's definitely leaning, at least in that gameplay vid/build of the game.
i prefer xhair to iron sights :/ playing thru crysis on the hardest difficulty you have to use iron sight with no xhair... half the time i don't know if i'm hitting the enemy or not & waste a heap of ammo :( especially when you kill an enemy ai n his body stays upright coz some bit of architecture props it up... i just keep unloading mags into it :P~
iron sights are slightly more realistic i guess but it's a game ffs@!#
I was over iron sights the first game i played with them, why do i want half the screen obscured by a gun model? Especially annoying in games like COD where enemies would drop on your first shot but not be dead, and you wouldnt see it because your gun was obscuring the bottom half of your screen.
It looks like they are fusing the best gameplay elements of Mass Effect (the class and weapon circular selector) Mirrors Edge (hand press while jumping) and Team Fortress 2 with the obvious turret example in the second video.
I like the way they're going with the complex landscape and npc units like the assistance robot in there, they are always an interesting diversion from the mainline gameplay.
Not sure about the weapon aiming since I'm pretty bored of it in MW2. Why can't they stick with something that doesn't clutter the view space like the good old days of Quake 2. I suppose that would be called shooting from the hip in these games now.

Other than that, looks ok.
