This is one of the most impressive games I've seen manifest itself in a long while. It's also an absolutely awesome idea for a team-based shooter. And in case you missed the debut trailer from GC 08 for Futuremark's PC shooter
Shattered Horizons, you can
hit this link.
Futuremark are the Finish software company most commonly known for their PC benchmarking tools 3DMark and Futuremark and this is their first foray into the development of an actual game.
If, like us, you've been waiting to see just what these lads were going to do with a new title, today's video has extensive gameplay footage (that looks incredible, I might add); showing off what seem like simple and intuitive controls as well as the insane angles you'll be playing at. I'm most impressed with the lack of sound - really awesome.
Hit this link for the full new video.
Shattered Horizon is currently in development for PC, no other platforms have yet been mentioned. It is also actually rumoured for a 2009 release but there hasn't been any elaboration on that for some time.

[Edit]
Otherwise the game structure is typical of multiplayer combat games. It's a 32-player affair on dedicated servers. Currently in Beta.
