Ubisoft have announced their forthcoming RTS (Real Time Strategy), R.U.S.E., will enter a VIP Beta test towards the end of the year, positions of which are available from the game's website and also for any lucky folk over in Cologne, Germany for GamesCom.
The beta will be offered exclusively to owners of a VIP multiplayer key. The beta will give gamers the opportunity to dive into the game and play as well as help ensure that the gameplay and balance mechanics are well implemented.
There still isn't a massive amount known about the game, only that Ubisoft are pushing it very hard, giving rise to it being something (hopefully) special in the RTS space.

Because that other RTS they released was awesome... nope. Endwar was s***e, Act of War was a very piss poor version of CnC Generals.

Couldn't agree with ctd more. They better pull a rabbit out of their arse this time cause one out of the hat wouldn't make me think once about getting their next RTS.

bUT WAIT gUYZ!
In R.U.S.E., players use their brain as the ultimate weapon, fighting a war of perception, where the ability to deceive and mislead the enemy determines success. A first in a strategy game, R.U.S.E. reinvigorates the genre by using deception to give new-found depth to the game play.

No one's ever had the ability to decieve their enemy in an RTS before!!!!

If only I had a $10,000 Microsoft Surface table to play it on.

Just googled "Surface"
Holy Crap! That would totally kick arse as an interface for RTS (still wouldn't save End War though).
