As part of their GDC 2009 keynote, Nintendo have officially announced the next title in the long running, much-loved The Legend of Zelda franchise. Exclusively for Nintendo DS, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks once again puts players in the shoes of Link, in yet another mission to save the princess.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks will utilize the intuitive touch control of Phantom Hourglass in an all new adventure that will please longtime Zelda fans while keeping the game accessible to all DS owners. The concept behind this Zelda game includes utilizing a steam locomotive to travel around the world, switching Phantom and Link to explore the dungeons, and solving puzzles using new items.
That's all the details we have at present, but the debut trailer confirms that the game will use the same cel-shaded style of Phantom Hourglass and Wind Waker.

I thought they said it'd be ages until a new Wii Zelda because they want to work to the strengths of the system (something Twilight Princess really didn't do).

Buying a DSi for this (and other games), I'm a firm believer that the portable is the new home for link, TP was pretty average. I bought a Wii at launch and have since sold it as I'm not a fan of the gimmicky motion controls (hey maybe its just me?).
Perhaps the next Wii Zelda game will make me revisit the Wii?
