Microsoft's Imagine Cup is back in full swing this year, offering first-place winners an all expenses paid trip to Egypt (among other things). First you'll need to conquer the Aussie heat though (which has a host of its own local prizes up for grabs), but last year an Australian team called SOAK (Smart Agricultural Toolkit), took honours with an integrated software and hardware platform designed to help farmers monitor and sustain their water supplies better.
The idea of Imagine Cup is to give people with ideas for the better advancement of the world (yep, the world - ambitious, but cool nonetheless), a platform, goal and incentive. You can find out more and register (which needs to be done by March 1st), from the official Imagine Cup page, just
hit this link.
If you do decide to register and genuinely think you have an idea that could take you through, be sure to let us know so we can follow your progress.
