I understand now why Watchmen author/creator, Alan Moore, didn't want to see his creation given the silver-screen treatment. It's because big companies like Warner Bros. just can't stop at releasing the movie. You can totally imagine some marketing bigwig looking at the movie as the next big summer blockbuster for tweens because the characters are wearing superhero costumes, resulting in some cash-in videogame.

So, here it is for your eye-rolling pleasure; a trailer for a Watchmen game - quite possibly the absolute antithesis of Alan Moore's original vision and concept for the universe he created.

Yeh, that doesn't inspire me with confidence.

I just bought Watchmen - the graphic novel - last week. I've only read a few of Alan Moore's things and I can't get super-excited about them. I really liked the overall plot - nice and dark and gritty - but I just couldn't get into the feel of the whole thing and didn't enjoy it that much overall.

The movie trailer looks super awesome though and I'm really keen to check it out (mostly just for Snyder tho).

i loved the graphic novel. i read it after someone posted the trailer here, cos i watched the trailer and had NFI what it was about, but knew i wanted to see it. i thought the pirate metafiction tied in as a brilliant analogy to the story, and i really felt for some of those f***ed up, broken, insecure, end-of-their-tether characters.

"raw shark? what the hell do i want with raw shark?!"

That pirate substory just bored the crap out of me for some reason. I'm not usually easily distracted when reading but I could barely pay attention to any of it.
